A high-level look at Building Information Modelling's key benefits, the potential pitfalls, and the priorities for successful implementation, in the wake of the recent Government mandate that all centrally procured public sector construction projects commenced after 4 April this year be implementing BIM Level 2, was given by Chartered Quantity Surveyor, Gary Allen, of IDC-Consult, at the first in a series of planned IHEEM/HefmA joint seminars on the topic held recently at the headquarters of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) in London. HEJ editor, Jonathan Baillie, reports.

Lead halide perovskite nanocrystal materials such as CsPbX (X = Cl, Br, and I) have triggered an intense research upsurge due to their excellent scintillation performance. Herein, an crystallization strategy is developed to grow CsPbBr nanocrystals (NCs) within a low-melting-point (280 °C) coordination polymer (CP) glass. The viscosity of coordination glass is reduced through a low-temperature (e.

The integration of BIM with other digital advancements has demonstrably led to an increase of performance in the Architecture, Engineering, Construction and Operation (AECO) industry. This integration not only is showing promising results in boosting the industry's performance, but also the productivity and promotes data-driven decision-making. Despite these benefits, there are limited studies that address the integration of BIM and digital data for managing built-assets in general and in developing countries in particular.

Background: Certain paediatric nervous system malignancies have dismal prognoses. Retinoic acid (RA) is used in neuroblastoma treatment, and preclinical data indicate potential benefit in selected paediatric brain tumour entities. However, limited single-agent efficacy necessitates combination treatment approaches.

Among the many benefits of implementing numerical analysis on real objects, economic and environmental considerations are likely the most important ones. Nonetheless, it is also crucial to constrain the duration and space necessary for conducting experimental investigations. Although these benefits are clear, the applicability of such models must be appropriately verified.

Latent curing agents are essential in the formulation of one-component epoxy resins, yet they are seldom derived from fully biobased chemicals. In the present work, a fully biobased latent curing agent for epoxy resins (BIMPA) was produced by synthesizing an ionic complex of lignin-derived triaryl-imidazole (BIM) and phytic acid (PA). Benefiting from the synergistic effect of BIM and PA, the one-component epoxy resin, composed of BIMPA and commercially available E51, exhibits a storage stability of over 90 days.
