The Munc13/UNC-13 family protein Ync13 is essential for septum integrity and cytokinesis in fission yeast. To further explore the mechanism of Ync13 functions, spontaneous suppressors of mutants, which can suppress the colony-formation defects and lysis phenotype of mutant cells, are isolated and characterized. One of the suppressor mutants, -, shows defects in the cytokinetic contractile ring constriction, septation, and daughter-cell separation, similar to mutant.

Background: Large-scale coral bleaching events have become increasingly frequent in recent years. This process occurs when corals are exposed to high temperatures and intense light stress, leading to an overproduction of reactive oxygen species (ROS) by their endosymbiotic dinoflagellates. The ROS buildup prompts corals to expel these symbiotic microalgae, resulting in the corals' discoloration.

Lipidomics has attracted attention in the discovery of unknown biomolecules and for capturing the changes in metabolism caused by genetic and environmental factors in an unbiased manner. However, obtaining reliable lipidomics data, including structural diversity and quantification data, is still challenging. Supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC) is a suitable technique for separating lipid molecules with high throughput and separation efficiency.

Background: Sugarcane is cultivated globally and affected by more than 125 pathogens, which lead to various plant diseases. In recent years, high-throughput sequencing (HTS)-based genome analyses have been broadly adopted for the discovery of both characterized and un-characterized viruses from plant samples. In this study, the HTS data of sugarcane pooled sample retrieved from sequence read archive (SRA) were de novo re-assembled using CLC Genomic Workbench.

Stress plays a key role in mental, neurological, endocrine, and immune disorders. The zebrafish (Danio rerio) is rapidly gaining popularity as s model organism in stress physiology and neuroscience research. Although the leopard (leo) fish are a common outbred zebrafish strain, their behavioral phenotypes and stress responses remain poorly characterized.
