Diindeno[1,2-:2',1'-]perylene, a new derivative of the indenoacene family was synthesized, and its electronic, electrochemical, and electrical properties were investigated. This material has a closed shell electronic configuration which corresponds to a quinoidal structure with a low band gap of 1.35 eV. Molecular packing in the single crystal was studied by single-crystal X-ray structural analysis, and this information was subsequently used in the determination of the charge transfer integrals density functional theory methods. The charge-carrier transport properties of the diindeno[1,2-:2',1'-]perylene-5,12-dione and diindeno[1,2-:2',1'-]perylene derivatives were investigated through the fabrication and characterization of field-effect transistors both vacuum-deposited and solution-processed films, respectively. Diindeno[1,2-:2',1'-]perylene exhibited a field-effect behaviour with a hole mobility up to 1.7 × 10 cm V s when the active layer was solution-processed.

Article Synopsis
  • Upconversion nanoparticles (UCNPs) are advanced light-emitting materials that use near-infrared light for sensing, helping to avoid issues caused by natural fluorescence in biological samples.
  • Traditional UCNP designs have limitations in accurately locating luminescent doped ions within their structure, leading to background noise and inefficient light emission.
  • The new core-middle-shell UCNPs-IR820 design improves luminescence detection by incorporating a "sandwich" structure that enhances energy transfer, allowing for effective signaling changes in response to specific analytes like ClO.

We report herein the synthesis of an unprecedented isomer of perylene, dicyclohepta[cd,fg]-as-indacene bearing two phenyl groups (1-Ph) by the nickel-mediated intramolecular homocoupling of a 4,4'-biazulene derivative (2). The X-ray crystallographic analysis and theoretical calculations revealed that 1-Ph adopts a unique helically twisted geometry although the local aromaticity of azulene moieties was preserved. The double covalent linkage of the two azulene skeletons imparts significant orbital interaction, which affords near-infrared (NIR) absorption (up to 1720 nm) and remarkable redox behaviors despite its closed-shell electronic structure.

A New Bivalve Species of the Genus J. E. Gray, 1828 (Bivalvia, Venerida, Cyrenoidea, Glauconomidae), from Shandong, China.

The family Glauconomidae has few species, limited molecular data description, and insufficient research attention. The biodiversity of Glauconomidae within China deserves further exploration. In recent years, the taxonomic status of Glauconomidae has undergone changes, and some studies have found a close relationship between Glauconomidae and the family Cyrenidae based on molecular data, suggesting that Glauconomidae should be classified under the superfamily Cyrenoidea.

Correctly identifying influential nodes in a complex network and implementing targeted protection measures can significantly enhance the overall security of the network. Currently, indicators such as degree centrality, closeness centrality, betweenness centrality, H-index, and K-shell are commonly used to measure node influence. Although these indicators can identify critical nodes to some extent, they often consider node attributes from a narrow perspective and have certain limitations.
