Tertiary hyperparathyroidism is characterized by hypercalcemia resulting from autonomous parathyroid hormone production and usually occurs after a prolonged period of secondary hyperparathyroidism. This condition can be a complication of X-linked hypophosphatemia (XLH), a rare genetic disease characterized by renal phosphate loss and consequent hypophosphatemia. Parathyroidectomy is considered the first-line therapy but surgical intervention can be complicated by hungry bone syndrome.

Streptococcus suis(SS) infection is a zoonotic acute infectious disease, SS infective endocarditis is relatively rare, there is no case report of Streptococcus suis Serotype 1(SS1) causing mitral valve infection.The rapid progression of this patient's infection and the severe damage to the valve structure differ from the previous understanding of the relatively low virulence of SS1. Early diagnosis and selection of the correct antibiotic treatment according to the drug sensitivity is very important.

To investigate the determining risk factors for 1-year postoperative mortality in elderly patients with hip fracture and to assess the efficacy of the age-adjusted Charlson comorbidity index (ACCI) in predicting the risk of death. This study adopted a retrospective analysis method to focus on 652 elderly patients who underwent hip fracture surgery between January 2018 and November 2022 in our hospital. By systematically combing the patients' medical records, relevant data were collected and analyzed in depth for their association with morbidity and mortality rates within 1 year.
