Purpose: To report an anti-recoverin antibody-positive cancer-associated retinopathy (anti-recoverin CAR) patient with remarkable improvements of visual function and outer retinal morphology following spontaneous regression of cancer.
Observations: A 65-year-old woman with small cell lung carcinoma developed progressive, bilateral vision loss with diffuse loss of the ellipsoid zone at the macula on optical coherence tomography and marked reduced responses of a- and b-waves on electroretinography. Western blot analysis led to a diagnosis of anti-recoverin CAR. The visual function and outer retinal morphology gradually improved following spontaneous regression of the cancer and the initiation of systemic corticosteroid. Subsequent intermittent chemotherapy and continuation of corticosteroid maintained reduction of the cancer and prevented the recurrence of CAR, with preservation of improvements of the visual function and macular outer retinal morphology.
Conclusions And Importance: These results suggest that requirement for obtaining good visual prognosis in CAR patients is to make the cancer regress prior to falling into photoreceptor apotosis.

Purpose: To investigate whether in diabetic cataract (DC), FoxO1 regulates high glucose (HG)-induced activation of NLRC4/IL-6 inflammatory mediators in human lens epithelial cells (SRA01/04) via the JAK1/STAT1 pathway, leading to cataract formation.
Methods: Expression levels of FoxO1, inflammatory factor IL-6 and inflammatory vesicle NLRC4 were examined in SRA01/04 under high glucose (HG) stress at 25-150 mM. Rat lenses were also cultured using HG medium with or without the addition of the FoxO1 inhibitor AS1842856 and the JAK1 agonist RO8191.

Age-related hand motor impairments may critically depend on visual information though few studies have examined eye movements during tasks of hand function in older adults. The purpose of this study was to assess eye movements and their association with performance while tracing on a touchscreen in young and older adults. Eye movements of 21 young (age 20-38 years; 12 females, 9 males) and 20 older (65-85 years; 10 females, 10 males) adults were recorded while performing an Archimedes spiral tracing task, a common clinical assessment sensitive to age-associated impairments in hand function.

Activation of bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) 4 signaling promotes the survival of retinal ganglion cell (RGC) after acute injury. In this study, we investigated the role of the BMP4 signaling pathway in regulating the degeneration of retinal ganglion cells (RGCs) in a mouse glaucoma model and its potential application in retinal stem cell. Our results demonstrate that BMP4-GPX4 not only reduces oxidative stress and iron accumulation but also promotes neuroprotective factors that support the survival of transplanted RSCs into the host retina.

Objectives: To explore the acute intervention effects of tissue flossing on chronic knee pain (CKP) in boxers.
Methods: Eighteen boxers with CKP (12 male/6 female) were randomly divided into an experimental group (EG) with tissue flossing (n = 9) and a control group (CG) (n = 9). The visual analog scale (VAS), Lysholm knee function score, flexion range of motion (ROM), maximal isometric extensor muscle strength, and stability of the knee were measured pre- and post-intervention (EG: 3-minute tissue flossing, CG: rest).
