Voltage-sensitive Ca (Ca) channels are the primary route of depolarization-induced Ca entry in neurons and other excitable cells, leading to an increase in intracellular Ca concentration ([Ca]). The resulting increase in [Ca] activates a wide range of Ca-dependent processes in neurons, including neurotransmitter release, gene transcription, activation of Ca-dependent enzymes, and activation of certain K channels and chloride channels. In addition to their key roles under physiological conditions, Ca channels are also an important target of alcohol, and alcohol-induced changes in Ca signaling can disturb neuronal homeostasis, Ca-mediated gene transcription, and the function of neuronal circuits, leading to various neurological and/or neuropsychiatric symptoms and disorders, including alcohol withdrawal induced-seizures and alcoholism.

Background: Immune cells within tumor tissues play important roles in remodeling the tumor microenvironment, thus affecting tumor progression and the therapeutic response. The current study was designed to identify key markers of plasma cells and explore their role in high-grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC).
Methods: We utilized single-cell sequencing data from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database to identify key immune cell types within HGSOC tissues and to extract related markers via the Seurat package.
Background: The photothermal sensitivity of tobacco refers to how tobacco plants respond to variations in the photothermal conditions of their growth environment. The degree of this sensitivity is crucial for determining the optimal planting regions for specific varieties, as well as for improving the quality and yield of tobacco leaves. However, the precise mechanisms underlying the development of photothermal sensitivity in tobacco remain unclear.

The decline in estrogen levels is considered as a critical physiological alteration during post-menopause. Fibro/adipogenic progenitors (FAPs) are identified as major contributors to muscular fatty infiltration.

RrUNE12 binds to the RrGGP2 promoter to facilitate biosynthesis of AsA in Rosa roxburghii fruit. Furthermore, RrUNE12 upregulates antioxidant-related genes and maintains ROS homeostasis, thereby improving tolerance to salt stress. L-ascorbic acid (AsA) plays an essential role in stress defense as a major antioxidant in plant cells.

Hyperactivation of the YAP/TEAD transcriptional complex in cancers facilitates the development of an immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment. Herein, we observed that the transcription factor SP1 physically interacts with and stabilizes the YAP/TEAD complex at regulatory genomic loci in colorectal cancer (CRC). In response to serum stimulation, PKCζ (protein kinase C ζ) was found to phosphorylate SP1 and enhance its interaction with TEAD4.
