A new "turn-on" fluorescent probe, RDMBM, based on the rhodamine B dye and the 2,5-pyrrolidinedione moiety was synthesized and characterized. Its sensing behavior toward various amino acids was evaluated via UV-vis and fluorescence spectroscopic techniques. The observed spectral changes showed that RDMBM displays high selectivity and sensitivity toward GSH in MeOH/HO (1:2, v/v, pH 7.40, Tris-HCl buffer, 1 mM) solution and that it undergoes 1:1 covalent binding with GSH. More importantly, the hydrogenation and ring-opening of the nitrogen atom in the spirane structure of rhodamine B derivatives were tightly bound to the induction effects of different groups. Furthermore, fluorescence imaging applications demonstrated that RDMBM can be successfully used for the detection of GSH in human breast cancer cells MCF-7.

Preparation of carbon dots (CDs) from biomass waste is of great interest due to its low cost synthesis, environmental compatibility and functionalization without adding dangerous chemicals. Herein, S-doped carbon dot (SCD) was synthesized using agricultural waste as carbon precursors and modified in-situ with rhodamine B dye (SCD@RHB) to construct efficient flouresent probe. SCD@RHB was loaded into HKUST-1 metal-organic framework (SCD@RHB/HKUST-1) and the probe was employed as ratiometric flouresent (RF) sensor for the determination of ciprofloxacin (CIP) antibiotic in trace level.

In our prior research, polymer nanoparticles (NPs) containing tobramycin displayed robust antibacterial efficacy against biofilm-embedded () and (. ) cells, critical pathogens in cystic fibrosis. In the current study, we investigated the deposition of a nanoparticulate carrier composed of poly(d,l-lactic--glycolic acid) (PLGA) and poly(ethylene glycol)--PLGA (PEG-PLGA) that was either covalently bonded with cyanine-5-amine (Cy5) or noncovalently bound with freely embedded cationic rhodamine B (RhB), which served as a drug surrogate.

Nanoparticles have been extensively studied for many years due to their important roles in catalysis, metallurgy and high temperature superconductors. But, Nanoparticles are extremely unstable and easily react with other substances. So, to control the size and the shape of nanoparticles they must be stabilized.

Cobalt-based metal-organic framework (MOFs)-derived catalysts are acknowledged for their effectiveness in activating peroxymonosulfate (PMS) for the treatment of persistent pollutants. However, the limited adsorption of PMS on the catalyst surface markedly reduces its degradation efficiency. To overcome this limitation, nanoflower-like EuO/CoO-0.

The problem of excessive use and abuse of antibiotics in the environment and food biology is becoming increasingly prominent, and norfloxacin (NOR) is widely used as an inexpensive and broad-spectrum antibiotic drug. Therefore, rapid and effective detection of antibiotics and residues in biological samples has become a demand of the times. This article describes a ratiometric fluorescence sensor based on molecular imprinting technology for the rapid and visual detection of NOR.
