The gradual process in which the crystalline lens is cloudy due to the appearance of elements giving rise to variations in the refractive index is known as cataract. Clinical assessment is usually complicated because it considers patient's perception, and individuals with similar development have different visual deficits. This work presents a model which considers the fluctuations in the refractive index as spherical particles produce measurable scatter radial profiles patterns on the retina. Measurements for 2 different wavelengths simultaneously provide information on particle size and a quantitative assessment by measurement of the fluctuations of the refractive index.

Background: To evaluate the biosafety, reduction in anterior capsule opacification, and fluctuation in intraocular pressure (IOP) of a new phakic refractive lens (PRL) with a sinusoidal drainage groove design.
Methods: This self-controlled experiment was performed on eight eyes of four rabbits. Each rabbit was implanted with a sinusoidal PRL (PRL-S5) in the right eye and a conventional posterior chamber PRL (PC-PRL) in the left eye.

Planck's law ignores but does not prohibit black-body radiation (BBR) from being circularly polarized. BBR from nanostructured filaments with twisted geometry from nanocarbon or metal has strong ellipticity from 500 to 3000 nanometers. The submicrometer-scale chirality of these filaments satisfies the dimensionality requirements imposed by fluctuation-dissipation theorem and requires symmetry breaking in absorptivity and emissivity according to Kirchhoff's law.

Purpose: To explore the significance of changes in anterior chamber depth (ΔACD) and astigmatism between 4 and 8 weeks following uneventful phacoemulsification.
Patients And Methods: Anterior chamber depth (ACD, mm), autorefractometry and subjective refraction were monitored in pseudophakic eyes implanted with non-toric IOLs (group 1, SA60AT, n=36; group 2, SN60WF, n=34; group 3, ICBOO, n=16) and phakic control group (n=30, group 4a, for ACD and autorefractometry) over four weeks. Changes in subjective refractions were compared with repeatability in normal phakic eyes (n=30, group 4b).

Eyelid pressure is a crucial biomechanical parameter for ocular health and refractive status, yet measuring it poses challenges related to flexibility, sensitivity, and regional specificity. This study introduces a novel smart contact lens that incorporates kirigami designs and an iontronic capacitive sensing array to enhance flexibility and conformability. The unique structural composition of this device allows for precise and simultaneous monitoring of eyelid pressure in multiple regions with a high sensitivity and seamlessly fit across corneal curvatures.
