Highly integrated nanocomposite of Graphene oxide (GO) and its derivatives with metal oxides is essential for enhanced performance for various applications. Tuning the morphology is an important aspect during nanomaterials synthesis; this has an amplifying influence upon physicochemical properties of advanced functional materials. In this research work, GO/TiO nanotube composites have been successfully synthesized via alkaline hydrothermal treatment method by augmenting GO layers with two different phases of TiO (anatase and rutile) nanoparticles, followed by the hydrothermal treatment that also have caused reduction of GO to reduced GO (RGO). The morphology of the as-prepared samples appeared to be nanotubes with a large aspect ratio (length to diameter). The synthesized materials have been characterized using various techniques to determine their morphological and functional properties. Large surface area (158 m/g) nanotube composites found accountable as effective disinfectant for water containing microorganisms. The antimicrobial activity of the synthesized composites was examined by disk diffusion method and optical density for bacterial growth using two different bacterial species; Escherichia Coli (, Gram-negative) and Staphylococcus Aureus (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, Gram-positive). The antibacterial study revealed that, the anatase phase RGO/TiO nanotube composites manifested appreciable effect on both bacteria as compared to rutile phase RGO/TiO nanotubecomposite.

Clay minerals show significant potential as fillers in polymer composite solid electrolytes (CSEs), whereas the influence of their microstructures on lithium-ion (Li) transport properties remains insufficiently understood. Herein, we design advanced poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO)-based CSEs incorporating clay minerals with diverse microstructures including 1D halloysite nanotubes, 2D Laponite (Lap) nanosheets, and 3D porous diatomite. These minerals form distinct Li transport pathways at the clay-PEO interfaces due to their varied structural configurations.

In this paper, a novel molecularly imprinted polymer membrane modified glassy carbon electrode for electrochemical sensors (MIP-OH-MWCNTs-GCE) for epinephrine (EP) was successfully prepared by a gel-sol method using an optimized functional monomer oligosilsesquioxane-AlO sol-ITO composite sol (ITO-POSS-AlO). Hydroxylated multi-walled carbon nanotubes (OH-MWCNTs) were introduced during the modification of the electrodes, and the electrochemical behavior of EP on the molecularly imprinted electrochemical sensors was probed by the differential pulse velocity (DPV) method. The experimental conditions were optimized.

Due to their lipophilicity and low content, the major sesame oleosin allergens, Ses i 4 and Ses i 5, are challenging to identify using conventional techniques. Then, a novel unlabeled electrochemical immunosensor was developed to detect the potential allergic activity of sesame oleosins. The voltammetric immunosensor was constructed using a composite of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs), polyethyleneimine (PEI), and multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs), which was synthesized in a one-pot process and modified onto a glass carbon electrode to enhance the catalytic current of the oxygen reduction reaction.

Aluminum-carbon nanotube (Al-CNT) composites represent a cutting-edge class of materials characterized by their exceptional mechanical, thermal, and electrical properties, making them highly promising for aerospace, automotive, electronics, and energy applications. This review systematically examines the impact of various fabrication methods, including conventional powder metallurgy, diffusion and reaction coupling, as well as adhesive and reaction bonding on the microstructure and performance of Al-CNT composites. The analysis emphasizes the critical role of CNT dispersion, interfacial bonding, and the formation of reinforcing phases, such as AlC and AlO, in determining the mechanical strength, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and thermal stability of these materials.

The use of traditional sealing materials in buildings poses a significant risk of fire and noise pollution. To address these issues, we propose a novel composite functional sealant designed to enhance fire safety and sound insulation. The sealant incorporates a unique four-component filler system consisting of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) decorated with layered double hydroxides (LDHs), ammonium dihydrogen phosphate (ADP), and artificial marble waste powder (AMWP), namely CLAA.
