Background: (Wall. Ex Hook and Grev.) C. Chr () is a pteridophyte fern which is found in Western Ghats, Kerala Ghats, and Mahendragiri forest region. It is used by many in hyperlipidemic conditions and obesity.
Aim: This study aimed to evaluate the acute toxicity and antihyperlipidemic activity of in experimental animals.
Materials And Methods: Oral acute toxicity study was carried out in female Wistar rats as per OECD 425 guideline. Antihyperlipidemic activity of powder of (540 mg/kg) was carried out in high-fat diet-induced hyperlipidemia in Wistar albino rats.
Results: rhizome powder at the dose of 2000 mg/kg did not produce any mortality and toxic effects during acute toxicity study in female rats. Test drug produced highly significant ( < 0.001) reversal in the triglycerides and very-low-density lipoprotein (VLDL)-cholesterol along with nonsignificant decrease in the cholesterol level in rats fed with hyperlipidemic diet. Further, has shown nonsignificant decrease in serum urea, serum glutamic pyruvic transaminase, alkaline phosphatase, and bilirubin direct while statistically significant decrease in bilirubin total in comparison to cholesterol control group. Histopathological study has shown reversal of adverse changes induced by hyperlipidemic diet in heart, liver, and kidney.
Conclusion: It is concluded that drug is safe up to the dose level of 2000 mg/kg in rats. Rhizome of has shown antihyperlipidemic activity in rats, which suggest its potential role in hyperlipidemia and associated conditions.

Environmentally persistent free radicals (EPFRs) have been widely detected in polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH)-contaminated soils, but the activation of persulfate by inherent EPFRs in PAH-contaminated soil for the transformation of PAHs remains unclear. In the present study, benzo[]pyrene (B[]P) was selected as a representative PAH and its transformation in a persulfate/B[]P-contaminated soil system was studied without the addition of any other activator. Results indicated that EPFRs in the soil activated persulfate to produce reactive oxygen species (ROS) and degraded B[]P.

In this study, antiulcer activity of ethanolic extract and solvent fractions of the aerial part of was investigated using ethanol-induced model of gastric ulceration in rats. The results showed that ethyl acetate, non-polar components and diethyl ether fractions have a remarkable antiulcerogenic activity; because they exhibited control-ulcer protection by 85.2%, 77.

Purpose: This study evaluates the hypothesis that a volumetric skin-sparing planning technique (SSPT) will reduce acute dermatitis in patients treated to the breast or chest wall (CW) with proton pencil-beam scanning (PBS).
Methods And Materials: In January 2022, our center incorporated volumetric-based skin-sparing objectives in addition to skin hot spot evaluation as an SSPT. The SSPT incorporated an objective to limit the volume of a skin evaluation structure (skin-eval) receiving 95% of the prescription dose or more (V95%Rx) to ideally < 50%.

seeds are known for their high oil content, and the oil extracted from these seeds has been traditionally utilized in biodiesel production. The presence of toxic compounds, specifically phorbol esters (PEs), in seed oil (JCSO) has blocked its use for human consumption. This article presents a thorough literature review that summarizes the latest research on the toxicological effects, including acute toxicity, genotoxicity, carcinogenicity, and chronic toxicity associated with phorbol esters (JCPEs).
