The unit processes of precipitate-dislocation interaction in dilute Mg-Nd alloys are elucidated through in situ indentation experiments in TEM. Results suggest that pinned dislocations can glide along the broad facets of extended β precipitates, a common strengthening phase in Mg- rare earth (RE) alloys. A dislocation-theory based analysis suggests that the shape, spacing and orientation (with respect to the glide plane) of β precipitates may favor glide of pinned dislocations along interfaces as opposed to the classical mechanism of bowing and looping around the precipitate.

This study explores variations in groundwater (GW) pH, conductivity, ammonium, iron, and manganese parameters to reveal prospective interactions having an impact on the dissolved metal concentrations. To this end, bivariate and partial correlation procedures were applied to the data to obtain incisive evaluation. Besides characterisation efforts, photocatalytic iron and manganese removal experiments were also carried out with Ni-doped TiO nano-composite thin films (TFs) on real GW samples.

Increasing the concentration of oxygen vacancies in ceria-based materials to solve the bottleneck of their applications in various fields has always been a research hotspot. In this paper, ceria-based cerium-oxygen-sulfur (Ce-O-S) composites that were composed of CeO, CeOS, and Ce(SO) were synthesized by a precipitation method. The compositional, structural, morphological, and light response characteristics of prepared Ce-O-S composites were investigated by various characterization techniques.

Climate, environmental conditions, and management strategies are key factors affecting forest net ecosystem production (NEP). However, little is known about the relationship between management approaches and regional to continental-scale forest productivity. In this study, we utilized forests of the U.

Objectives: Drug-loaded mucoadhesive silk fibroin (SF) microneedle patch can overcome the limitations of low bioavailability and significant pain associated with traditional treatment methods, such as topical application or injection of triamcinolone for oral submucous fibrosis (OSF). However, these systems release the drug too quickly, failing to meet the clinical requirements. This study aims to construct a mucoadhesive SF microneedle patch pre-assembled with silk fibroin nanospheres (SFN) and explore its ability to sustain the release of triamcinolone in the treatment of OSF.

Buprenorphine has superior safety in opioid use disorder compared with alternatives due to its action as a partial opioid agonist, which limits its ability to cause respiratory depression. There is a risk of precipitated opioid withdrawal after buprenorphine exposure in someone using full opioid agonists. Buprenorphine induction strategies that avoid precipitated withdrawal remain a crucial component for starting buprenorphine in individuals actively using opioids.
