Published: March 2018

Anion- and solvent-induced single-crystal-to-single-crystal transformation within an iron(II) triazole system has been generated from {[Fe(TPPT)Cl]·CHCl} (1a) to [Fe(TPPT)(CO)Cl(HO)] (1b). Luminescence studies indicated that the resultant 1b can be considered as a promising luminescent probe for CrO and cyano molecules.

The formation and growth of lithium dendrites is an ever-present and urgent problem in lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). At the same time, the low melting point of commercial polyolefin separators may lead to safety issues during application. On this basis, in this work, poly (m-phenylene isophthalamide) (PMIA)/Zr-based metal-organic framework (NH-UiO-66) composite separator was prepared by non-solvent induced phase separation (NIPS).

Latent Solvent-Induced Inorganic-Rich Interfacial Chemistry to Achieve Stable Potassium-Ion Batteries in Low-Concentration Electrolyte.

Angew Chem Int Ed Engl

December 2024

State Key Laboratory of Reliability and Intelligence of Electrical Equipment, School of Materials Science and Engineering, Hebei University of Technology, Tianjin, 300401, China.

Low-concentration electrolytes (LCEs) have attracted great attention due to their cost effectiveness and low viscosity, but suffer undesired organic-rich interfacial chemistry and poor oxidative stability. Herein, a unique latent solvent, 1,2-dibutoxyethane (DBE), is proposed to manipulate the anion-reinforced solvation sheath and construct a robust inorganic-rich interface in a 0.5 M electrolyte.

The poly(L-lactic acid) (PLLA)/ZnO composite membrane with cluster assemblies microstructure was constructed by a combination of non-solvent induced phase separation (NIPS) and the Breath-Figure method. In this novel method, the controllable diffusion rate between solvent and non-solvent was introduced to the system by adjusting the non-solvent solubility parameters. The humidity was adjusted to control non-solvent solubility parameters in the Breath-Figure method, which avoids the instantaneous phase separation induced by direct coagulation of water droplets.

Redox-Triggered Reversible Switching between Dynamic and Quasi-static α-Helical Peptides.

Chemistry

October 2024

Nano Life Science Institute (WPI-NanoLSI), Kakuma-machi, Kanazawa University, 920-1192, Kanazawa, Japan.

We report the reversible transformation between a singly stapled dynamic α-helical peptide and a doubly stapled quasi-static one through redox-triggered dithiol/disulfide conversions of a stapling moiety. This process allows the rate of interconversion between the right-handed (P) and left-handed (M) α-helices to be altered by a factor of approximately 10 before and after the transformation. An as-obtained doubly stapled α-helical peptide, which is composed of an achiral peptide having an l-valine carboxylic acid residue at the C-terminus, a disulfide-based reversible staple, and a biphenyl-based fixed staple, adopts an (M)-rich form as a kinetically trapped state.

Amphiphilic block copolymers are promising candidates for the fabrication of ultrafiltration membranes with an isoporous integral asymmetric structure. The membranes are typically fabricated by the combination of block copolymer self-assembly and the non-solvent-induced phase separation (SNIPS) process resulting in isoporous integral asymmetric membranes. Certainly, all these membranes lack thermal and chemical stability limiting the usage of such materials.
