A mechanistic connection between aging and development is largely unexplored. Through profiling age-related chromatin and transcriptional changes across 22 murine cell types, analyzed alongside previous mouse and human organismal maturation datasets, we uncovered a transcription factor binding site (TFBS) signature common to both processes. Early-life candidate cis-regulatory elements (cCREs), progressively losing accessibility during maturation and aging, are enriched for cell-type identity TFBSs.

Aberrant glycosylation recently emerged as an unmissable hallmark of cancer progression in many cancers. In melanoma, there is growing evidence that the tumour 'glycocode' plays a major role in promoting cell proliferation, invasion, migration, but also dictates the nature of the immune infiltrate, which strongly affects immune cell function, and clinical outcome. Aberrant glycosylation patterns dismantle anti-tumour defence through interactions with lectins on immune cells, which are crucial to shape anti-tumour immunity but also to trigger immune evasion.

Antimicrobial acroautophagy/autophagy plays a vital role in degrading intracellular pathogens or microbial molecules in host-microbe interactions. However, microbes evolved various mechanisms to hijack or modulate autophagy to escape elimination. Vector-transmitted phloem-limited bacteria, Liberibacter (.

Introduction: Rhizoctonia solani, the causative agent of the sheath blight disease (ShB), invades rice to obtain nutrients, especially sugars; however, the molecular mechanism via which R. solani hijacks sugars from rice remains unclear.
Objectives: In this study, rice-R.

Purpose: In addition to its toxic effects on the human cardiovascular and respiratory systems, tobacco dependence also causes damage to brain function and cognitive activity. Therefore, the main objective of this study was to investigate the effects of acute aerobic exercise on food-reward function and its food-cued prefrontal brain activation in tobacco-dependent individuals.
Method: Ninety-three participants who met the study criteria were randomly divided into a moderate-intensity exercise group (65%-75% HRmax), a high-intensity exercise group (75%-85% HRmax), and a quiet control group (n = 31 in each group).
