MPOX is an orthopoxvirus whose infection has been declared a Public Health Emergency of International Concern in 2022 and 2024. It proved to be a virus with markedly heterogeneous and varied clinical presentation. We performed a systematic PubMed review of articles reporting cases of different clinical manifestations of MPOX until October 2024.

Background: Differences in cannabinoid metabolism and patient responses can arise even with equivalent doses and formulations. Genetic polymorphisms in genes responsible for cannabinoid metabolism and medications that alter CYP450 pathways responsible for metabolism of cannabinoids may account for some of this variability.
Materials And Methods: A retrospective chart review was conducted on a cohort of unselected patients who had previously completed pharmacogenomic testing and reported oral cannabis use, as defined as "oral" or "by mouth" route of administration.

Background: Alzheimer disease (AD) involves neurodegenerative disorders with progressive cognitive decline. Atypical presentations like Posterior Cortical Atrophy (PCA) and Logopenic Variant Primary Progressive Aphasia (lvPPA) exhibit distinct clinical profiles. PCA affects the posterior parietal and occipital lobes, causing visuospatial deficits, while lvPPA manifests as language impairment in the temporoparietal region.

Background: The accumulation of abnormal tau protein in neurons and glia in the human brain is the defining feature of neurodegenerative diseases known as tauopathies. Progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP), the most common primary tauopathy, is typified by selective vulnerability of dopaminergic neurons and glia in the midbrain leading to an atypical parkinsonian movement disorder. To investigate candidate disease mechanisms underlying PSP, there is a critical need for model systems that more accurately recapitulate the cellular and molecular environment in the human brain.

Background: Alzheimer's disease (AD) features stereotypical spread of hyperphosphorylated tau (p-tau) and beta-amyloid. Although other pathological tau posttranslational modifications (PTMs) have been described in AD, a prevalent disease model preconizes that other tau PTMs always coincide with p-tau, making the latter an excellent marker of pathological tau burden. We showed in experimental studies that truncated tau (tr-tau), a pathological tau PTM generated via cleavage by active caspases, is as common as p-tau in neurons at late AD stages; however, only about 40% of tr-tau positive neurons also show p-tau positivity.
