We investigated the effects of Al-5.0wt%Ti-1.0wt%B addition on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the as-extruded Al-0.15wt%Si-0.2wt%Fe-0.3wt%Cu-0.15wt%Zn-0.9wt%Mn based alloys. The Aluminum alloy melt was held at 800 °C and then poured into a mould at 200 °C. Aluminum alloys were hot-extruded into a rod that was 12 mm in thickness with a reduction ratio of 38:1. AlTiB addition to Al-0.15Si-0.2Fe-0.3Cu-0.15Zn-0.9Mn based alloys resulted in the formation of Al3Ti and TiB2 intermetallic compounds and grain refinement. With increasing of addition AlTiB, ultimate tensile strength increased from 93.38 to 99.02 to 100.01 MPa. The tensile strength of the as-extruded alloys was improved due to the formation of intermetallic compounds and grain refinement.

Fine-grained restoration of Mongolian patterns based on a multi-stage deep learning network.

Sci Rep

College of Computer and Information Engineering, Inner Mongolia Agricultural University, Huhhot, 010000, Inner Mongolia, China.

Mongolian patterns are easily damaged by various factors in the process of inheritance and preservation, and the traditional manual restoration methods are time-consuming, laborious, and costly. With the development of deep learning technology and the rapid growth of the image restoration field, the existing image restoration methods are mostly aimed at natural scene images. They do not apply to Mongolian patterns with complex line texture structures and high saturation-rich colors.

The present study examined optimal dietary patterns of eight plant-based foods for preventing chronic diseases, including hypertension, stroke, myocardial infarction, and diabetes, using data from the China Health and Nutrition Survey (CHNS). We applied generalized estimating equations to assess time-based changes and gender differences, using residual balancing weights to control time-varying confounders, and employed a restricted cubic spline model to explore dose-response relationships by gender. The findings suggested that a high intake of vegetables and whole grains, along with moderate amounts of fruits, fungi and algae, could help reduce the risk of developing these four chronic diseases simultaneously.

Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National University of Singapore, Singapore 117576, Singapore.

To face the increasing requirement for grains as the global population continues to grow, improving both crop yield and quality has become essential. Plant health directly impacts crop quality and yield, making the development of plant health-monitoring technologies essential. Variable sensing technologies for outdoor/indoor farming based on different working principles have emerged as important tools for monitoring plants and their microclimates.

G protein Coupled Receptors (GPCRs) are the largest family of cell surface receptors in humans. Somatic mutations in GPCRs are implicated in cancer progression and metastasis, but mechanisms are poorly understood. Emerging evidence implicates perturbation of intra-receptor activation pathway motifs whereby extracellular signals are transmitted intracellularly.

Trace amount of taurine leveling agent for stable Zn anode.

RSC Adv

December 2024

Aqueous zinc-ion batteries are highly praised for their cost-effectiveness, environmental friendliness, and high safety, making them an ideal choice for next-generation energy storage systems. However, the practical application of Zn metal anodes is constrained by well-known challenges such as dendrite growth and significant interfacial side reactions. This study introduces a trace amount of taurine (TAU) as a leveling additive into the electrolyte to optimize the microstructure of the electrolyte and the anode interface chemistry.
