Two 3-4 hetero-metal pentanuclear complexes with the formula {[CrLnL(OH)(HO)]EtNH} [Ln=Tb (), Dy (); HL=pivalic acid, EtN=triethylamine] have been produced. The metal core of each cluster is made up of a trigonal bipyramid with three Ln ions (plane) and two Cr ions (above and below) held together by six -OH bridges. Also reported with this series is the diamagnetic Cr-Y analogue (). Fortunately, we successfully prepared Al-Ln analogues with the formula {[AlLnL(OH)(HO)]EtNH⋅HO} [Ln=Tb (), Dy ()], containing diamagnetic Al ions, which can be used to evaluate the Cr-Ln magnetic nature through a diamagnetic substitution method. Subsequently, static (dc) magnetic susceptibility studies reveal dominant ferromagnetic interactions between Cr and Ln ions. Dynamic (ac) magnetic susceptibility studies show frequency-dependent out-of-phase ('') signals for [CrTb] (), [CrDy] (), and [AlDy] (), which are derived from the single-ion behavior of Ln ions and/or the Cr-Ln ferromagnetic interactions.

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is the deadliest malignant tumor, with a grim 5-year overall survival rate of about 12%. As its incidence and mortality rates rise, it is likely to become the second-leading cause of cancer-related death. The radiological assessment determined the stage and management of PDAC.

Background: Middle cerebral artery (MCA) stenosis affects lenticulostriate arteries (LSAs) that supply the basal ganglia. Increased spatial resolution and signal-to-noise ratio of 7 T could facilitate morphological imaging of very-small-diameter LSAs.

Purpose: To evaluate differences in morphological characteristics of LSA among different MCA stenoses.

Subtypes of Insomnia Disorder Identified by Cortical Morphometric Similarity Network.

Hum Brain Mapp

January 2025

Sleep and NeuroImaging Center, Faculty of Psychology, Southwest University, Chongqing, China.

Insomnia disorder (ID) is a highly heterogeneous psychiatric disease, and the use of neuroanatomical data to objectively define biological subtypes is essential. We aimed to examine the neuroanatomical subtypes of ID by morphometric similarity network (MSN) and the association between MSN changes and specific transcriptional expression patterns. We recruited 144 IDs and 124 healthy controls (HC).

The asymmetric Schiff base prepared from ethylenediamine and pyridine-2-carboxaldehyde reacts with Fe(ClO)·6HO to form the Fe(II) complex [FeL](ClO) with L = ,-diethyl-'-(pyridin-2-yl)methylene)ethane-1,2-diamine, where the Fe(III) starting material has been unexpectedly reduced to Fe(II). This complex was characterized by elemental analysis, infrared spectra, single crystal and powder X-ray diffraction measurements, variable temperature DC magnetic measurement and room temperature Mössbauer spectroscopy. The asymmetric ligand L coordinates in a tridentate fashion through its pyridyl, azomethine and amino nitrogen atoms, generating a distorted octahedral geometry around the central metal ion.
