General semi-rational solutions of an integrable multi-component (2+1)-dimensional long-wave-short-wave resonance interaction system comprising multiple short waves and a single long wave are obtained by employing the bilinear method. These solutions describe the interactions between various types of solutions, including line rogue waves, lumps, breathers and dark solitons. We only focus on the dynamical behaviours of the interactions between lumps and dark solitons in this paper. Our detailed study reveals two different types of excitation phenomena: fusion and fission. It is shown that the fundamental (simplest) semi-rational solutions can exhibit fission of a dark soliton into a lump and a dark soliton or fusion of one lump and one dark soliton into a dark soliton. The non-fundamental semi-rational solutions are further classified into three subclasses: higher-order, multi- and mixed-type semi-rational solutions. The higher-order semi-rational solutions show the process of annihilation (production) of two or more lumps into (from) one dark soliton. The multi-semi-rational solutions describe (≥2) lumps annihilating into or producing from -dark solitons. The mixed-type semi-rational solutions are a hybrid of higher-order semi-rational solutions and multi-semi-rational solutions. For the mixed-type semi-rational solutions, we demonstrate an interesting dynamical behaviour that is characterized by partial suppression or creation of lumps from the dark solitons.

Rapeseed meal (RSM), a protein-rich byproduct, holds potential as a high-quality animal feed, but nitrile compounds derived from glucosinolates (GSLs) in RSM pose a toxicity risk. Nitrilases, enzymes that hydrolyze toxic nitriles to carboxylic acids, offer a potential solution for detoxification. However, the low thermal stability of nitrilases restricts their industrial applicability.

Unlabelled: The cofactor regeneration system plays a crucial role in redox biocatalysis for organic synthesis and the pharmaceutical industry. The alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH)-based regeneration system offers a promising solution for the regeneration of NAD(P)H. However, its widespread use is hindered by low activity and poor expression of ADH in .

To reduce carbon emissions and address environmental concerns, the aviation industry is exploring the use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) as an alternative to traditional fossil fuels. In this context, bio-alkane is considered a potentially high-value solution. The present study focuses on the enzymes acyl-acyl carrier protein [ACP] reductase (AAR) and aldehyde-deformylating oxygenase (ADO), which are crucial enzymes for alka(e)ne biosynthesis.

Designing proteins with tunable activities from easily accessible external cues remains a biotechnological challenge. Here, we set out to create a small antibody-binding domain equipped with a molecular switch inspired by the allosteric response to calcium seen in naturally derived proteins like calmodulin. We have focused on one of the three domains of Protein G that show inherent affinity to antibodies.

In this paper, we focus on the localized rational waves of the variable-coefficient Heisenberg spin chain equation, which models the local magnetization in ferromagnet with time-dependent inhomogeneous bilinear interaction and spin-transfer torque. First, we establish the iterative generalized (m,N-m)-fold Darboux transformation of the Heisenberg spin chain equation. Then, the novel localized rational solutions (LRSs), rogue waves (RWs), periodic waves, and hybrid wave structures on the periodic, zero, and nonzero constant backgrounds with the time-dependent coefficients α(t) and β(t) are obtained explicitly.
