The quality of the written informed consent process is one of the most important aspects of clinical research, as it is the single tool that serves as a metric of autonomy. Several challenges have been identified with the informed consent process in developing countries the most important of which is the ability to assimilate and understand the information presented in the consent form. In India, a unique aspect of the informed consent process is the need for audio-video [AV] recording of the process for vulnerable populations and new chemical entities. The present narrative summates authors' experiences as investigators with A-V recording of the informed consent process as also providing a brief narrative review of relevant literature. It also offers potential solutions for challenges faced during this process.

This study intents to detect graphical network features associated with seizure relapse following antiseizure medication (ASM) withdrawal. Twenty-four patients remaining seizure-free (SF-group) and 22 experiencing seizure relapse (SR-group) following ASM withdrawal as well as 46 matched healthy participants (Control) were included. Individualized morphological similarity network was constructed using T1-weighted images, and graphic metrics were compared between groups.

Objective: Segmentation of individual thigh muscles in MRI images is essential for monitoring neuromuscular diseases and quantifying relevant biomarkers such as fat fraction (FF). Deep learning approaches such as U-Net have demonstrated effectiveness in this field. However, the impact of reducing neural network complexity remains unexplored in the FF quantification in individual muscles.

Purpose: To evaluate the diagnostic value of different subtypes of non-punctate echogenic foci in thyroid malignancy.
Methods: Retrospective research of 342 thyroid nodules with calcification was performed. The echogenic foci were divided into punctate echogenic foci (type I) and non-punctate echogenic foci (type II), and type II were further divided into four subtypes: macrocalcification (type IIa), continuous peripheral calcification (type IIb), discontinuous peripheral calcification (type IIc) and isolated calcification (type IId).
