Essential thrombocythemia (ET) is a type of myeloproliferative neoplasm (MPN) disorder characterized by persistent thrombocytosis and characterized by frequent association with cellular genetic alterations. The 10%-15% of ET that is not associated with genetic abnormalities is known as triple-negative essential thrombocythemia (TNET). A common complication observed in around 20% of ET patients is the development of acquired von Willebrand disease (AvWD).

Globally, obesity prevalence has progressively increased and is now at epidemic levels; this trend is mirrored in women of childbearing age. There is a high level of evidence that maternal obesity is associated with a range of adverse pregnancy complications and neonatal outcomes, such as hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), large for gestational age (LGA) fetuses, premature birth, stillbirth, cesarean section, and postpartum hemorrhage, among certain others. This systematic review aimed to comprehensively evaluate the relationship between maternal obesity and health outcomes for both mothers and infants.

Background: The rapid rise of non-communicable diseases, particularly type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), poses a significant global public health challenge, with South Asia experiencing an increasingly severe burden. This study aimed to analyse historical trends of T2DM across South Asia from 1990 to 2021 and forecast incidence through 2031.
