The senescence of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) is closely related to aging and degenerative diseases. Curcumin exhibits antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects and has been extensively used in anti-cancer and anti-aging applications. Studies have shown that curcumin can promote osteogenic differentiation, autophagy and proliferation of MSCs.

This paper introduces an evidence-based, design-of-experiments (DoE) approach to analyze and optimize drug delivery systems, ensuring that release aligns with the therapeutic window of the medication. First, the effective factors and release data of the system are extracted from the literature and meta-analytically undergo regression modeling. Then, the interaction and correlation of the factors to each other and the release amount are quantitatively assessed.

Background: Recent studies show that the increase in breath hydrogen (BH) and symptoms after ingestion of inulin is reduced by co-administering psyllium.
Objectives: To determine if slowing delivery of inulin to the colon by administering it in divided doses would mimic the effect of psyllium. Primary endpoint was the BH area under the curve AUC.

Bacteriophages hold promise for combating pathogenic bacteria in the human intestinal tract, but their therapeutic potential is limited by harsh stomach conditions, including low pH and digestive enzymes. This study aimed to develop a natural protective mechanism for orally administering phages to treat gastric infections caused by Klebsiella aerogenes. Results revealed that free phages became inactive at pH 3 without protective measures.

Biocompatible and degradable hydrogels are extensively utilized for the delivery and controlled release of bioactive agents. Chitosan/squid ring teeth protein (SRT) hydrogels (CH/SRTs) cross-linked by genipin were fabricated, and their gel properties and structural characteristics were analyzed across varying SRT contents. Additionally, the curcumin-release behavior of curcumin-loaded CH/SRTs (Cur-CH/SRTs) was evaluated.
