The objective of the present work was to develop the method for the visualization of the shape of the bone surface in the region of its traumatic damage based on the results of the analysis of a single X-ray image for the solution of the problems facing forensic medical expertise and traumatology. The three-dimensional models of the fractures of the long tubular bones constructed with the use of the visualization technique were shown to adequately reproduce the morphological picture of the injury. It allowed to enhance the potential of the forensic medical analysis and the accuracy of the diagnostic methods employed for the purposes of forensic medical expertise.

Neuropeptide Y (NPY) is a sympathetic neurotransmitter widely distributed in the peripheral and central nervous system, affecting many physiological functions. Consequently, dysregulation of the NPY system contributes to numerous pathological disorders, including stress, obesity, and cancer. The pleiotropic functions of NPY in humans are mediated by G protein-coupled receptors (Y1R, Y2R, Y5R), which activate several signaling pathways and thereby regulate cell growth, differentiation, apoptosis, proliferation, angiogenesis, and metabolism.

Estimating the chronological age of humans is a prevalent need in forensic practice. Comparing the accuracy of different age identification methods helps provide the most reliable method for a specific population. This study aimed to compare the accuracy of age assessments using skeletal maturation and dental mineralization in a sample of Egyptians and to assess if combining both methods yields more precise age prediction.

Neonatal sepsis is an important concern in the field of neonatology, contributing significantly to morbidity and mortality among newborns worldwide. Despite progress in medical care, the accurate diagnosis and comprehension of the pathological underpinnings of neonatal sepsis continue to present challenges. Conventional diagnostic autopsy (CDA) provides unique opportunities to gain insights into the histomorphological alterations associated with neonatal sepsis.

Splenic cysts are rare medical conditions, and their incidence is dominated by parasitic types. Non-parasitic splenic cysts, whether true cysts (with a cellular lining of the cystic wall) or pseudocysts (without a cellular lining), are significantly rarer than parasitic ones. Their etiology is not fully established, with fetal remnant development, metaplasia, and mesothelial invagination being widely accepted possible mechanisms.

Indigenous populations of the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau exhibit unique high-altitude adaptations, especially within Tibeto-Burman (TB) groups. However, the paternal genetic heritage of eastern Plateau regions remains less explored. We present one integrative Y chromosome dataset of 9,901 modern and ancient individuals, including whole Y chromosome sequences from 1,297 individuals and extensive Y-SNP/STR genotype data.
