A reversed phase high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method was established for the simultaneous determination of 12, 13-dihydroxyeuparin and glycyrrhizic acid in Yanyanfang mixture. A Grace Apollo C column (250 mm×4.6 mm, 5 μm) was used as the stationary phase and the mobile phase was composed of acetonitrile and aqueous phosphoric acid (0.2%, v/v). Gradient elution was carried out at the flow rate of 1.0 mL/min and the column temperature was 30 °C. An ultraviolet (UV) detector was used with a selected wavelength of 240 nm. Calibration curves were linear within the concentration range of 4.6-45.75 μg/mL for 12, 13-dihydroxyeuparin (>0.9999) and 106.9-1068.9 μg/mL for glycyrrhizic acid (>0.9999), respectively. Recoveries were 102.18% for 12, 13-dihydroxyeuparin and 101.17% for glycyrrhizic acid. The method developed could be applied to the simultaneous determination of 12, 13-dihydroxyeuparin and glycyrrhizic acid in Yanyanfang mixture.

Blue light will be a promising alternative for photodynamic therapy in psoriasis, but the photosensitizer in vivo remains unexplored. Mesoporous zinc phosphate microparticle (MZP) was synthesized successfully in this study, as evidenced by XPS, XRD, and nitrogen adsorption experiments. Its psoriatic skin-sensitive property was corroborated by SEM and the higher cumulative release rate of that impregnated with curcumin (Cur) and glycyrrhizic acid (GA), namely Cur-GA-MZP, at pH 5.

Natural compounds demonstrate unique therapeutic advantages for cancer treatment, primarily through direct tumor suppression or interference with the tumor microenvironment (TME). Glycyrrhizic acid (GL), a bioactive ingredient derived from the medicinal herb Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fisch., and its sapogenin glycyrrhetinic acid (GA), have been recognized for their ability to inhibit angiogenesis and remodel the TME.

Huo-Xiang-Zheng-Qi Mixture is a renowned traditional Chinese medicine formula used to treat ailments associated with dampness pathogens. This study employed ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry to perform a comprehensive qualitative and quantitative analysis of the chemical compounds in Huo-Xiang-Zheng-Qi Mixture. A total of 155 compounds were identified, including 61 flavonoids and their glycosides, 36 phenylethanoid glycosides, 23 saponins, 14 coumarins, 9 organic acids, 1 amino acid, 2 nucleosides and purines, and 9 additional compounds.

A liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry method was established and validated for determining the concentrations of costunolide(CO), piperine(PI), agarotetrol(AG), glycyrrhizic acid(GL), vanillic acid(VA), and glycyrrhetinic acid(GA) in rat plasma. This method was then applied to the toxicokinetic study of these six compounds in rats with chronic cerebral ischemia(CCI) following multiple oral doses of Zhachong Shisanwei Pills. Finally, the effects of continuous multiple-dose administration of Zhachong Shisanwei Pills on the liver of CCI rats were investigated.

The processing of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) is a core theory within TCM, embodying deep philosophical, cultural, and natural scientific wisdom. Among the various techniques, the "synergistic processing of medicinal materials and excipients" has garnered significant attention due to its uniqueness. This study explored the impact of the adjuvant Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma on the dynamic process of component transformation during the processing of Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata using techniques such as acidic dye colorimetry, UPLC-Q-TOF-MS/MS, density functional theory(DFT), and molecular dynamics simulations(MDS).
