Type III-B rotaxane dendrimers (T3B-RDs) are hyperbranched macromolecules with mechanical bonds on every branching unit. Here we demonstrate the design, synthesis, and characterization of first to third (G1-G3), and up to the fourth (G4) generation (MW > 22,000 Da) of pure organic T3B-RDs and dendrons through the copper-catalyzed alkyne-azide cycloaddition (CuAAC) reaction. By utilizing multiple molecular shuttling of the mechanical bonds within the sphere-like macromolecule, a collective three-dimensional contract-extend molecular motion is demonstrated by diffusion ordered spectroscopy (DOSY) and atomic force microscopy (AFM). The discrete T3B-RDs are further observed and characterized by AFM, dynamic light scattering (DLS), and mass spectrometry (MS). The binding of chlorambucil and pH-triggered switching of the T3B-RDs are also characterized by H-NMR spectroscopy.

The present case report describes the endodontic treatment of a type III B dens invaginatus (DI) in a three-rooted mandibular second molar since the invagination invades the root and extends apically. Clinical and cone-beam computed tomography examination of the mandibular second molar showed a broadened coronal morphology, DI, a third root, periapical radiolucency, and compression of a distal root canal by the invagination, which developed an atypical semilunar shape. The tooth was diagnosed with pulpal necrosis, symptomatic apical, and peri-invagination periodontitis.

How CRISPR-Cas and cyclic oligonucleotide-based antiphage signaling systems (CBASS) are coordinately deployed against invaders remains unclear. We show that a locus containing two CBASS and one type III-B CRISPR-Cas system, regulated by the transmembrane anti-σ DdvA and its cognate extracytoplasmic function (ECF) σ DdvS, can defend against a phage. Cryo-electron microscopy reveals DdvA-DdvS pairs assemble as arrow-shaped transmembrane dimers.

Introduction: There is a high incidence of open fractures accounting 23% of all tibial fractures. The minimal soft tissue and precarious blood supply of the shaft of tibia make these fractures vulnerable to complications. The treatment should be decided through thoughtful analysis for personality of injuries and the status of the soft tissue.

This study aimed to investigate the application of the cup-on-cup technique in revision total hip arthroplasty (THA) and report clinical and radiographic outcomes from a series of case follow-ups. Retrospective analysis of 10 patients who underwent acetabular prosthesis revision with cup-on-cup technique. According to the Paprosky classification of acetabular bone defects, there were 2 cases of type II C, 3 cases of type III A, and 5 cases of type III B.
