Aim: There are few studies that have looked at the long-term outcomes of juvenile mitral stenosis (JMS) following percutaneous transmitral commissurotomy (PTMC). This study sought to analyse the modified history of JMS in children following PTMC.
Method: We describe a longitudinal, observational follow-up study of all children and young adults aged <20 years who underwent PTMC at Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research, Bangalore, India from 2012 to 2021.

The aim was to investigate LA strain by feature tracking cardiac MRI in mitral stenosis (MS) patients before and after percutaneous balloon mitral valvuloplasty (PBMV). Patients underwent cardiac MRI before and after successful PBMV (n = 18). Mitral valve area, transmitral velocity and gradients, LA volumes and ejection fraction (LAEF) were measured.

Background: Several repair strategies emerged as possible treatment for severe mitral regurgitation (MR). A systematic review and meta-analysis was performed to compare the different percutaneous mitral valve repair approaches.
Methods: PubMed and Scopus electronic databases were scanned for eligible studies until December 11th, 2023.

Introduction And Objectives: There is limited evidence to identify the most accurate method for measuring the mitral valve area (MVA) after percutaneous edge-to-edge mitral repair. Our objective was to evaluate the optimal method in this context and its correlation with the mean transmitral gradient.
Methods: A registry of patients undergoing percutaneous mitral repair was conducted, analyzing different methods of measuring MVA and their correlation with the mean gradient.

Background: Calcific mitral stenosis (calcific MS) presents a challenge for surgical treatment and is a contraindication for most contemporary transcatheter mitral valve replacement devices (TMVR), rendering patients with very limited therapeutic options.
Aims: This study aims to assess the clinical and hemodynamic follow-up after mitral valve lithotripsy (MVL).
Methods: All consecutive patients who underwent MVL to treat symptomatic calcific MS at St Michael's Hospital, Toronto, Canada, were included.
