The fungal green synthesis of nanoparticles (NPs) has gained great interest since it is a cost-effective and easy handling method. The process is simple because fungi secrete metabolites and proteins capable of reducing metal salts in aqueous solution, however the mechanism remains largely unknown. The aim of this study was to analyze the secretome of a Trichoderma harzianum strain during the mycobiosynthesis process of zinc and iron nanoparticles.

Iron oxide nanoparticles, recognized for their superparamagnetic properties, are promising for future healthcare therapies. However, their extensive use in medicine and electronics contributes to their discharge into our environments, highlighting the need for further research on their cellular damage effects on aquatic organisms. While the detrimental properties of other compounds have been stated in the early-life stages of fish, the cytotoxic consequences of superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SPIONs) in these stages are still unexplored.

Among different microbes, fungi are proficient candidates for the extracellular synthesis of iron nanoparticles. For biogenic synthesis of iron nanoparticles, a thermophilic mould Myceliophthora thermophila BJTLRMDU7 was used in this study. Mycogenic magnetic nanoparticles were used for phosphatase immobilization and therapeutic applications such as antimicrobial and antimalarial activity.

Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry of dissolved organic matter (DOM) extracted from environmental samples provides molecular speciation that enables visualization of compositional trends in the fate and cycling of biogenic and anthropogenic organics. Often, chemical contamination is introduced during field sampling (i.e.
