There are global concerns regarding the transmission of antimicrobial-resistant pathogens from animals to humans. Especially, companion animals are increasingly recognized as a potential source due to their close interactions with people, despite a limited number of reported cases. Although, social demands regarding comprehensive surveillance for antimicrobial resistance (AMR) among companion animals are highlighted, there is a lack of a relevant system in South Korea.

Objective: To evaluate the use of collar-mounted accelerometers to objectively monitor treatment outcomes in canine pruritus.
Methods: Observational data from 1,803 dogs from 2019 through 2023 were retrospectively analyzed to evaluate the efficacy of collar-mounted accelerometers to assess treatment efficacy for pruritic canine skin diseases. Accelerometer measurements were joined to electronic health records to establish symptoms, diagnoses, and interventions.

Introduction: Chronic disease is generally known to affect dogs' quality of life (QoL) as well as being associated with increased strain on their owners. Gastrointestinal (GI) disease is a common problem in companion animal practice, yet little is known about the QoL of dogs with chronic enteropathy (CE) and how their owners and veterinarians assess it.
Methods: The aim of this study was to explore: (i) how dog owners and veterinarians observed and evaluated QoL for dogs with chronic GI disease, (ii) how having a dog with CE affected the owner's QoL, and (iii) characteristics of the communication and relationship between the dog owner and veterinarian.

Despite the significant growth in Sonali chicken production across Bangladesh, inadequate disease surveillance and control measures along with indiscriminate antimicrobial use remain major challenges to the sector. In this study, we evaluated the disease burden and antimicrobial prescription patterns of Sonali chickens in Bangladesh using a web-based data recording system from 2020 to 2021 and analyzed 1690 cases. The diagnoses recorded in the system were presumptive, as they were based on clinico-epidemiological history, clinical signs, and gross necropsy findings noted by registered veterinarians.
