Background: Lung adenocarcinoma patients are often found to have developed bone metastases at the time of initial diagnosis. With the continuous development of technology, we have successfully entered the era of immunotherapy. This study aimed to determine the efficacy of immunotherapy in lung adenocarcinoma patients with bone metastases (LABM) through a multicenter retrospective analysis and to develop a novel tool to identify the population that could benefit most from immunotherapy.

Different whole-brain computational models have been recently developed to investigate hypotheses related to brain mechanisms. Among these, the Dynamic Mean Field (DMF) model is particularly attractive, combining a biophysically realistic model that is scaled up via a mean-field approach and multimodal imaging data. However, an important barrier to the widespread usage of the DMF model is that current implementations are computationally expensive, supporting only simulations on brain parcellations that consider less than 100 brain regions.

A spatially constrained independent component analysis jointly informed by structural and functional network connectivity.

Tri-institute Translational Research in Neuroimaging and Data Science (TReNDS Center), Georgia State University, Georgia Institute of Technology, Emory University, Atlanta, GA, USA.

There are a growing number of neuroimaging studies motivating joint structural and functional brain connectivity. The brain connectivity of different modalities provides an insight into brain functional organization by leveraging complementary information, especially for brain disorders such as schizophrenia. In this paper, we propose a multimodal independent component analysis (ICA) model that utilizes information from both structural and functional brain connectivity guided by spatial maps to estimate intrinsic connectivity networks (ICNs).

Applications of Deep Neural Networks with Fractal Structure and Attention Blocks for 2D and 3D Brain Tumor Segmentation.

In this paper, we propose a novel deep neural network (DNN) architecture with fractal structure and attention blocks. The new method is tested to identify and segment 2D and 3D brain tumor masks in normal and pathological neuroimaging data. To circumvent the problem of limited 3D volumetric datasets with raw and ground truth tumor masks, we utilized data augmentation using affine transformations to significantly expand the training data prior to estimating the network model parameters.

Disentangling the genetic overlap between ischemic stroke and obesity.

Department of Neurosurgery, The Affiliated Hospital of Guizhou Medical University, Guiyang, Guizhou Province, People's Republic of China.

Objective: Obesity has been recognized as a risk factor for cerebrovascular diseases, with observational studies suggesting a heightened incidence of stroke. However, the genetic epidemiology field has yet to reach a consensus on the causal relationship and genetic overlap between ischemic stroke (IS) and obesity.

Methods: We utilized linkage disequilibrium score regression, high-definition likelihood, and local analysis of variant associations to assess the genetic correlation between body mass index (BMI) and IS.
