Background: There is substantial evidence that smokers present a less favorable response following regenerative periodontal surgery. However, there are no reports to date on the response to regenerative procedures in chronic cannabis smokers. In the present case study, we discuss the periodontal outcomes of reparative and regenerative surgical treatment in a cannabis consumer patient with generalized stage III grade C periodontitis.

Background: To demonstrate the safety and performance of the Arrow EZ-IO Intraosseous Vascular Access System, particularly in the pediatric patient population, a retrospective observational study was conducted in 2021 and 2022.
Methods: Following study design, IRB approval, and investigator selection, data were collected for all patients needing intraosseous access-adult and pediatric. The primary endpoint was the success rate for achieving intraosseous access; the secondary endpoint was the rate of adverse events.

Cervical tuberculous spondylitis is a rare and potentially life-threatening manifestation of spinal tuberculosis, accounting for only 3%-5% of all cases of spinal tuberculosis This report describes a case of a 17-year-old male patient who developed tetraparesis 2 weeks prior to hospital admission, after a 6-month record of progressive neck pain. Magnetic Resonance Imaging revealed tuberculous spondylodiscitis involving multiple vertebrae, with a severe spinal cord compression at C2-C3 due to an intraosseous abscess and paravertebral soft tissue mass. The patient underwent anterior cervical corpectomy and fusion at C3 with autologous iliac bone graft and anterior stabilization.

Introduction: Intraosseous (IO) access is a commonly used procedure in pediatric emergencies for establishingvascular access when alternative means, such as intravenous access, cannot be obtained. Likealternative routes, IO can be administered quickly and provides a route for medications, blood products, and fluids to be infused in emergency circumstances. While the use of IO is generally considered safewith minimal risks, potential complications can include compartment syndrome, infection, thrombosis, and fracture.

This study aims to evaluate the osteoconductive and osteoinductive potential of novel composite collagenous sponges enriched with keratin (K), hydroxyapatite (HA), and their combination (K+HA) for osteochondral regeneration in rat knee models. By examining cell proliferation, mineralization, and vascularization, we aim to determine the regenerative effectiveness of these materials in promoting osteochondral repair, particularly in load-bearing joints like the knee. Addressing the problem of osteochondral defects (OCD), which lead to osteoarthritis-a condition characterized by pain and functional impairment-the hereby research evaluates these biomaterials for their potential to foster bone and cartilage repair, especially in load-bearing joints as the knee.
