Article Abstract
A new species, Binh, Ngoc & Bon, is described from Xuan Lien Nature Reserve, Vietnam. The new species is morphologically similar to Skan, in having 8-11 pairs of secondary veins, bowl-shaped cupules and ellipsoid to cylindrical-ellipsoid and basally convex nuts. It differs in having serrulate leaf margins only at apical 1/5-1/7, almost entire margins of bracts on cupule and much longer nuts. The species is also similar to Hickel & A. Camus in having leaves glabrous on both surfaces with only an apically serrulate margin but differs in having shorter petioles, cupules enclosing 1/5 of the nut and much longer nuts. In addition, Chun & Tsiang. and Chun & Tsiang., previously known from China, are newly recorded from Ba Vi National Park, Vietnam.

The Annamite striped rabbit () is an Endangered lagomorph endemic to the Annamite Mountain Range in Vietnam and Laos, with much unknown about its distribution range. In this study, we used previously known records of the Annamite striped rabbit to construct distribution models using Maxent, a modeling approach that has been proven to be robust in identifying potential areas of undiscovered populations of targeted species. Using the optimal model results as a guideline to select the field site, we conducted a systematic camera trap survey in Dak Long Protection Forest, Kon Tum Province, Vietnam.

The final instar larva of the rare species Hämäläinen, 2003 is described and illustrated here for the first time, including a new distribution record from Vietnam. The larva of differs from that of congeneric species by distinct morphological features, including the presence of four setae on the palpal lobe of the labium, the presence of lateral spines on abdominal S5-9, and a long terminal filament on the caudal lamella. We also provide a key to species for the known larvae of the subfamily Platycnemidinae in the Sino-Japanese and Oriental regions.

The family Hippoboscidae, commonly known as "louse flies," comprises pupiparous Diptera that are ectoparasites of birds and mammals, with significant impacts on their hosts and epidemiological importance. The louse fly fauna of Vietnam is relatively understudied compared to other countries in the Southeast Asia region.
