Objective: To study the clinical outcome of total hip arthroplasty(THA) for traumatic arthritis after acetabular fracture.

Methods: From June 2010 to June 2014, 33 hips in 33 patients with traumatic arthritis after acetabular fracture were retrospective analyzed including 21 males and 12 females with a mean age of 44.6 years old. All the patients received THA with bio-prostheses. Harris score was used to evaluate the hip function of patients before and after operation, the X-ray was adopted for radiographic evaluation of the hip prosthesis.

Results: All patients were followed up for 7 to 38 months with an average of 21.6 months. The Harris score increased from preoperative 53.6±2.4 to 94.0±3.0 at the final follow-up, the difference was statistically significant(=55.37, <0.05). The X-ray evaluation showed the prosthesis was in good position, no loosening of the prosthesis, dislocation and periprosthetic osteolysis.

Conclusions: THA is an effective treatment for the traumatic arthritis after acetabular fracture;internal fixation of acetabular fractures could not be removed if it shows difficult but does not affect the prosthesis placement.

Introduction: Adult reconstruction fellowship-trained (FT) surgeons undergo an additional year of dedicated subspecialized training. The benefits of fellowship training include a comprehensive understanding of arthroplasty patient care and contemporary surgical techniques, as well as an expanded network of mentors and colleagues. The purpose of the present study was to compare practice variations between FT and non-fellowship-trained (NFT) surgeons, focusing on indications, perioperative prescribing patterns, and complication rates surrounding total hip arthroplasty (THA).

Background: Traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) are characterized by myriad comorbidities that affect the functioning of the affected individuals. The comorbidities that TBI subjects experience span a wide range, ranging from psychiatric diseases to those that affect the various systems of the body. This is compounded by the fact that the problems that TBI subjects face could span over an extended period post-primary injury.

Background: Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a prevalent and debilitating psychiatric illness that has been linked to poor health outcomes and increased risk of developing chronic health conditions, including multiple autoimmune diseases such as Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA), and Multiple Sclerosis (MS).

Aim: This meta-analysis assesses the epidemiological research in this field and briefly explores the hypothesized neurobiological and immunological mechanisms that may underlie the association between PTSD and the development of Autoimmune Disease.

Methods: PubMed, SCOPUS, and Cochrane Reviews databases were searched for all relevant articles in August 2023.

Objective: Osteoarthritis (OA) is one of the leading causes of disability in the aging population. While about 10% of the adult population is affected by OA, there is to date no curative treatment and joint replacement surgery remains the only option for treating end-stage OA. Previous studies found elevated levels of the chemokine C-X-C motif ligand 9 (CXCL9) in the synovial fluid of OA knees.
