Methicillin-resistant (MRSA) is a major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide and is a frequent cause of skin and soft tissue infections (SSTIs). Lymphedema-fluid accumulation in tissue caused by impaired lymphatic vessel function-is a strong risk factor for SSTIs. SSTIs also frequently recur in patients and sometimes lead to acquired lymphedema. However, the mechanism of how SSTIs can be both the consequence and the cause of lymphatic vessel dysfunction is not known. Intravital imaging in mice revealed an acute reduction in both lymphatic vessel contractility and lymph flow after localized MRSA infection. Moreover, chronic lymphatic impairment is observed long after MRSA is cleared and inflammation is resolved. Associated with decreased collecting lymphatic vessel function was the loss and disorganization of lymphatic muscle cells (LMCs), which are critical for lymphatic contraction. In vitro, incubation with MRSA-conditioned supernatant led to LMC death. Proteomic analysis identified several accessory gene regulator ()-controlled MRSA exotoxins that contribute to LMC death. Infection with mutant MRSA resulted in sustained lymphatic function compared to animals infected with wild-type MRSA. Our findings suggest that is a promising target to preserve lymphatic vessel function and promote immunity during SSTIs.

The regeneration of endothelial cells (ECs) lining arteries, veins, and large lymphatic vessels plays an important role in vascular pathology. To understand the mechanisms of atherogenesis, it is important to determine what happens during endothelial regeneration. A comparison of these processes in the above-mentioned vessels reveals both similarities and some significant differences.

Complex lymphatic anomalies are unique diseases marked by abnormal lymphatic vessel development and growth. Imaging is crucial in the evaluation and management of complex lymphatic anomalies, with dynamic contrast-enhanced MR lymphangiography emerging as a valuable modality for visualizing abnormal lymphatic structures and informing treatment decisions. This article gives an overview of complex lymphatic anomalies and their management strategies, focusing specifically on generalized lymphatic anomaly, Gorham-Stout disease, Kaposiform lymphangiomatosis, and central conducting lymphatic anomalies.

Background: Vascular endothelial growth factor-A (VEGFA) is a key inducer of angiogenesis, responsible for generating new blood vessels in the tumor microenvironment (TME) and facilitating metastasis. Notably, Avastin, which targets VEGFA, failed to demonstrate any significant benefit in clinical trials for breast cancer (BC). This study aimed to investigate the clinical relevance of gene expression in BC.

Purpose: To evaluate the safety and efficacy of lymphatic embolization for primary genital lymphorrhea.

Materials And Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on patients who underwent lymphatic embolization for primary genital lymphorrhea and/or lower limb lymphedema between May 2016 and January 2022 at three specialized lymphatic centers. Following radiological evaluation of genital lymphorrhea, affected lymphatic vessels were selectively embolized to occlude abnormal lymphatic flow using a mixture of N-butyl cyanoacrylate glue and ethiodized oil.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department, Faculty of Dentistry, Tishreen University, Lattakia, Syria.

Introduction And Importance: Oral Lymphangioma is a rare benign tumor that arises from the lymphatic vessels in oral cavity. It is a development defect in the lymphatic system, which is less common than other types of vascular anomalies, and the incidence in the general population is very low, especially in the oral cavity. It typically presents as soft, painless swelling, often found on the tongue, lips or floor or the mouth.
