Linear psoriasis (LP) represents a rare variant of psoriasis. The clinical presentation includes erythematous plaques distributed along the Blaschko lines, reflecting the presence of embryological mosaicism. The clinical and histopathological features of this condition show many similarities with inflammatory linear verrucous epidermal nevus (ILVEN), which presents a challenge in differential diagnosis.

Background: Inflammatory dermatological conditions, including psoriasis, lichen planus, eczema, and alopecia areata, are frequently accompanied by nail findings and can have a significant impact on quality of life. Biologic and small-molecule medications have been approved over the past several decades in treating patients with these inflammatory nail disorders. They may be used in conjunction with longstanding mainstays of treatment (topical and intralesional corticosteroids, topical vitamin D3 analogs).

Psoriasis is a prevalent, chronic inflammatory disease characterized by abnormal skin plaques. To date, physical therapy, topical therapy, systemic therapy and biologic drugs are the most commonly employed strategies for treating psoriasis. Recently, many agents have advanced to clinical trials, and some anti-psoriasis drugs have been approved, including antibody drugs and small-molecule drugs.

Vitiligo is an autoimmune disorder that causes melanocyte damage and pigment loss. The clinical presentation of vitiligo consists of patchy areas of lighter skin and results from a loss of functioning melanocytes and may be more visible in darker skin toned patients. Vitiligo affects approximately 2 percent of children and adolescents in the United States, with half of the affected cases undiagnosed.
