Dendrimers are a wide range of nanoparticles with desirable properties that can be used in many areas of medicine. However, little is known about their potential use in wound healing. This study examined the properties of phosphorus dendrimers that were built on a cyclotriphosphazene core and pyrrolidinium (DPP) or piperidinium (DPH) terminated groups, to be used as potential factors that support wound healing ().

The growing demand for sustainable energy storage solutions has underscored the importance of phase change materials (PCMs) for thermal energy management. However, traditional PCMs are always inherently constrained by issues such as leakage, poor thermal conductivity, and lack of solar energy conversion capacity. Herein, a multifunctional composite phase change material (CPCM) is developed using a balsa-derived morphology genetic scaffold, engineered via bionic catechol surface chemistry.

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are known to have toxic effects on fish. In this study, we examined the effects of benz[a]anthracene (BaA), a type of PAH, on fish liver metabolism. Nibbler fish () were intraperitoneally injected with BaA (10 ng/g body weight) four times over a 10-day period.

The assessment of persistence of organic pollutants in seawater is limited by the lack of user-friendly, quick protocols for assessing one of their main sinks, degradation by marine bacteria. Here we present an experimental workflow to identify organic pollutants degradation, taking organophosphate esters flame retardants and plasticizers (OPEs-FR-PL), as a model family of synthetic chemicals released into the marine environment that are particularly widespread due to their persistence and semi-volatile nature. The proposed novel workflow combines culture-dependent techniques, solvent demulsification-dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction, with quantitative liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry analyses in order to identify marine bacterial isolates with the potential to degrade OPEs-FR-PL in the marine environment.

Parathyroids are the key regulators of calcium-phosphorus metabolism. By means of parathyroid hormone they respond to any changes in the serum level of calcium and phosphorus ions and determine the integrity of skeleton, affecting almost all systems and cells where calcium and phosphorus are involved in metabolism and/or signaling.Disorders of parathyroid function are associated with significant complications accompanying secondary hyperparathyroidism.
