In a previous article the authors reported the kinetic unmixing and decomposition of the ternary oxide NiTiO by an externally applied voltage. It was found [J. Chun, et al., J. Appl. Phys., 117, 2015, 124504] that while kinetic unmixing occurred for all magnitudes of the applied voltage, kinetic decomposition occurred only above a certain threshold voltage U. The experimentally determined value of U, however, did not coincide with the thermodynamic expectation according to the definition by Gibbs (). In this work the kinetic decomposition voltage U of a ternary oxide ABO is theoretically derived and compared with the experimental results. It turns out that U depends on the mobility ratio of the cations and agrees with observed results for the system of NiTiO within the error bounds.

The ultrafine MoO powders were prepared by the combination of centrifugal spray drying and calcination in this work. The thermal decomposition behavior of the spherical precursor was studied. The phase constituents, morphologies, particle size, and specific surface areas of MoO powders were characterized at different temperatures.

The widespread application of anode-free lithium metal batteries (AFLMBs) is hindered by the severe dendrite growth and side reactions due to the poor reversibility of Li plating/stripping. Herein, our study introduces an ultrathin interphase layer of covalent cage 3 (CC3) for highly reversible AFLMBs. The subnano triangular windows in CC3 serve as a Li sieve to accelerate Li desolvation and transport kinetics, inhibit electrolyte decomposition, and form LiF- and LiN-rich solid-electrolyte interphases.

Well-defined amorphous/semi-crystalline statistical copolymers of n-dodecyl isocyanate, DDIC, and allyl isocyanate, ALIC, were synthesized via coordination polymerization using the chiral half-titanocene complex CpTiCl(O-(S)-2-Bu) as an initiator. In the frame of the terminal model, the monomer reactivity ratios of the statistical copolymers were calculated using both well-known linear graphical methods and the computer program COPOINT. The molecular and structural characteristics of the copolymers were also calculated.

(1) Background: The aim of the work was to investigate the influence of selected physico-chemical factors on the solubility and release rate of CT (cryptotanshinone) in alcohologels. (2) Methods: The alcohologels of methylcellulose (MC), hydroksyethylcellulose (HEC), polyacrylic acid (PA) and polyacrylic acid crosspolymer (PACP) with CT were prepared and/or doped with native potato starch (SN) and modified citrate starches (SM2.5 and SM10).

A novel Schiff base ligand (L), bearing NO donor sites, was derived from the condensation of 5-chloromethylisophthaldehyde and phenylpropanolamine (PPA). Mononuclear Co(II), Cu(II), and Zn(II) complexes were synthesized and were characterized by FTIR, UV-Vis, H NMR, ESI-mass spectroscopy, molar conductance, and thermal and electrochemical studies. The thermal investigation revealed that the complexes were stable up to 150-250 °C and began to degrade in stages, resulting in the development of respective metal oxides.
