We started performing esophagectomy by a laparoscopic transhiatal approach in 2009. Further, we started performing single-port mediastinoscopic cervical approach in 2014, and developed a technique for total mediastinal lymph node dissection. The upper and middle mediastinal lymph node dissection including lymph nodes along the left recurrent laryngeal nerve, using a left cervical approach, was performed with a single-port technique.

Aim: This study aims to explore the rationality, feasibility, safety, and effectiveness of single-incision laparoscopic gastric pull-up (SILS-GPU) and robot-assisted gastric pull-up (R-GPU) methods.
Methods: Hospital records of patients who underwent gastric pull-up with either SILS-GPU or R-GPU between May2016 and January 2024 were reviewed. Demographics, diagnosis, surgical techniques, and postoperative outcomes were evaluated.

Epiphrenic esophageal diverticulum is rare and often associated with abnormalities of esophageal motility. Here, we report a case of a patient diagnosed with high-resolution manometry as having epiphrenic esophageal diverticulum with esophagogastric junction outflow obstruction, which were successfully treated with laparoscopic transhiatal surgery. A 59-year-old woman presented to our hospital for treatment of a symptomatic epiphrenic esophageal diverticulum.
