Enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) protocols have informed perioperative care across multiple surgical specialties, optimizing patient outcomes through surgical stress management and accelerated recovery. This study evaluates the familiarity and adoption of ERAS elements among craniofacial and oral and maxillofacial surgeons in pediatric orthognathic surgery, a field where a formal ERAS protocol has not been established. A closed-ended survey of 102 surgeons was conducted to assess familiarity with and utilization of 14 ERAS elements.

Objective: This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of a dual digital alert system and automatic radiologist reassignment in improving the efficiency of quantitative imaging report delivery for clinical trials.

Materials And Methods: Assessing tumor metrics is critical to oncologic disease management, informed treatment planning, and for monitoring therapeutic response and even more so in cancer clinical research trials. A collaborative effort with the Institutional Research Information Systems division led to developing a web-based system with a Java backend, tested using Agile methodology to improve patient care with improved turnaround time (TAT) of quantitative reports.

Introduction: The use of antibody titers against SARS-CoV-2, as a method of estimating subsequent infection following infection or vaccination, is unclear. Here, we investigate whether specific levels of antibodies, as markers of adaptive immunity, can serve to estimate the risk of symptomatic SARS-CoV-2 (re-) infection.

Methods: In this real-world study, laboratory data from individuals tested for SARS-CoV-2 antibodies under routine clinical conditions were linked through tokenization to a United States medical insurance claims database to determine the risk of symptomatic/severe SARS-CoV-2 infection outcomes.

December 2024

School of Biological Engineering, Huainan Normal University, Huainan, 232038, Anhui, People's Republic of China.

Functional fermentation strains were isolated and screened from traditional fairy beans in northern Anhui. Through technical identification, Bacillus subtilis SXD06 was determined to be the superior fermentation strain, while Wickerhamomyces anomalus YE006 was identified as the optimal aroma-producing yeast. Utilizing single-factor experiments and response surface optimization, a Central Composite Design fermentation and blending model was established.
