Objectives: Inconclusive RBC antibody identification (ABID) may delay RBC crossmatch. An increased number of inconclusive ABID was observed, and an algorithm was developed to improve ABID efficiency.
Methods: RBC antibody screen (AS) and ABID were initially performed using solid-phase RBC adherence assay (SPRCA) and manual tube method. A retrospective analysis of AS and ABID results was performed pre- and postalgorithm implementation.
Results: The number of inconclusive ABID results decreased from 26 to six per month pre- and postimplementation, respectively. SPRCA became the primary AS method, and manual tube became the gold standard for ABID. SPRCA was used for ABID upon reference specialist secondary review and allowed identification of 30 specific RBC antibodies, for which no patients developed signs or symptoms of a hemolytic transfusion reaction.
Conclusions: RBC reference workflow using SPRCA and manual tube methods for AS and ABID decreases "inconclusive" ABID without adverse events.

Introduction: This study aimed to assess current practice in general x-ray rooms in three Irish hospitals. Evaluating the extent to which x-ray protocols are currently standardised can be considered as a preparatory step towards the larger goal of implementing optimisation in a diagnostic radiology department.
Methods: Data on various aspects of general x-ray room exposures was manually collected and analysed to highlight variations with exposure factors in use and workload distribution across each of the ten hospital x-ray rooms included in the study.

Objective: To investigate and assess hemolytic transfusion reaction in patient with complex and combined anti-Fy and anti-Jk which so as to provide a safety blood transfusion strategy.
Methods: ABO/Rh blood grouping, antibody screening and identification, and Coombs' tests were performed by the routine serological methods include manual tube and automatic blood group analyzer with matching micro-column gel cards from Diagnostic Grifols and Jiangsu LIBO. The hospital information system and laboratory information system were used to collect dada on patients' blood routine tests, liver and kidney function, coagulation, cardiac function, and other clinical indicators before and after blood transfusion were analyzed and compared in conjunction with the patients' clinical manifestations.

Current manual multi-methods for analysis of pesticides are limited due to their complexity and scope of pesticides, high demand for time and solvent or unsuitability for broad types of food of animal origin. The following research presents a novel automated sample preparation and purification method for various food matrices of animal origin, including milk, raw milk, dairy products, cheese, eggs, fish, fish products, and offal. The Ultra-Turrax® Tube Drive System enables quick fat extraction using a solvent mixture of cyclohexane/ethyl acetate/acetonitrile.

A new method is proposed to generate hydrogen in situ at low pressure from powder-pressed recycled aluminum turnings activated with small amounts of NaOH and drops of water. The contribution of this system is that the user can obtain small flows of high-purity hydrogen (>99%) to charge their portable electronic devices in remote places, in a simple, controlled, and safe way, since only water is used. Test tubes that contain tiny amounts of NaOH on their surface can be transported and used without contact.

Enhanced fibrinolysis or hyperfibrinolysis may lead to life-threatening blood loss, while reduced activity may contribute to thrombosis. Euglobulin clot lysis time (ECLT) is a manual method that measures plasma fibrinolytic activity and is considered the gold standard. However, the data on reference interval is scarce and outdated.
