We assessed the role of purinergic P2 receptors in the regulation of cutaneous vasodilation in young adults at rest and during intermittent moderate-intensity exercise in the heat (35 °C). P2 receptor blockade augmented resting cutaneous vasodilation but had no influence during and following exercise. This increase was partly diminished by nitric oxide synthase inhibition. These results suggest a functional role of P2 receptors in the regulation of cutaneous vascular tone during ambient heat exposure at rest.

Background: The colonization of (SA) acquired in nosocomial infections may develop acute and chronic infections such as Methicillin-Resistant (MRSA) in the nose. As a commensal microorganism with the ability to form a biofilm, SA can dwell on the skin, nostrils, throat, perineum, and axillae of healthy humans. Nitric oxide (NO) is an unstable gas with various molecular functions and has antimicrobial properties which are converted into many potential treatments.

Silica nanoparticles-embedded smart-gels are efficient drug carrier systems due to their structural flexibility, high porosity, and ease of formulation development. Herein, the extent of interaction of minoxidil (MXD), a potent vasodilator prodrug, with silica nanoparticles (SiNPs) and alginate (ALG) was investigated. The SiNPs were prepared by extracting silica from rice husk ash, and these SiNPs were further used to prepare MXD-loaded-SiNPs (MXD-SiNPs) by loading them with an appropriate amount of MXD.

Background: Phosphodiesterase-4 is an enzyme that regulates immune responses and contributes to the development of psoriasis. Dipyridamole and roflumilast function as phosphodiesterase-4 inhibitors, reducing pro-inflammatory cytokine expression. The aim was to evaluate the anti-psoriatic effect of the topical administration of dipyridamole and roflumilast nanoemulgel combination on imiquimod-induced psoriasiform skin inflammation in rats.

Introduction: Current-induced vasodilation (CIV) can be used to assess the prostacyclin (PGI2) pathway. This study, for the first time, evaluated the reproducibility of several protocols used to mediate a CIV.
Methods: Three CIV protocols were evaluated in 10 healthy participants who completed four testing sessions.
