Purpose: To compare the efficacy of an internal brace and the arthroscopic Broström-Gould procedure for chronic lateral ankle instability (CLAI).
Methods: The clinical data of 71 patients who were diagnosed with chronic lateral ankle instability between May 2020 and May 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. The American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS) scale, Foot and Ankle Ability Measure (FAAM), and Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) were used to assess clinical outcomes.

Background: Carbon fiber custom dynamic orthoses have been used to improve gait mechanics after lower limb trauma in military service members, with the goal of restoring function and improving outcomes. However, the effects of commercially available carbon fiber orthoses available to civilians on lower extremity joint kinetics and kinematics are poorly understood.
Research Question: The aim of this study was to examine the effect of two commercially available orthoses on lower extremity kinematics and kinetics in individuals with lower limb trauma.

Maintaining balance during human walking hinges on the exquisite orchestration of whole-body angular momentum (WBAM). This study delves into the regulation of WBAM during gait by examining balance strategies in response to upper-body moment perturbations in the frontal plane. A portable Angular Momentum Perturbator (AMP) was utilized in this work, capable of generating perturbation torques on the upper body while minimizing the impact on the center of mass (CoM) excursions.

Background: While the surgical treatment of mandibular stage 3 medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ) is well-documented, research on maxillary stage 3 MRONJ is limited. Antiresorptive medications can induce MRONJ and atypical femoral fracture (AFF), but their impact on the feasibility of using fibula flaps for reconstruction remains controversial. This study aimed to assess the surgical outcomes and functional recovery of fibula flap reconstruction for maxillary stage 3 MRONJ, considering both recipient and donor site outcomes.
