Pure tone audiometry including "masking" is the most basic test in audiological medicine. Masking is based on theoretical models of sound perception and propagation and has been widely discussed since the 1950s. In Japan, such discussion has been conducted extensively, starting from early periods up to recent times, with success to enable mathematical simulation, but the achievements have little been disclosed to the English-speaking world.

Explicit metacognitive interventions in undergraduate chemistry courses have been shown to improve student outcomes. Less studied have been the outcomes of students who implicitly and frequently practice metacognition and the resultant effects on the student-instructor relationship. In this project set within a large enrollment introductory chemistry course, we elevated student voice and enhanced student-instructor communication through weekly metacognitive reporting to study the characteristics of reporting students and their perceptions of the effects of metacognitive reporting.

Objective: To explore the efficacy of acupuncture based on "gut-brain axis" combined with sensory integration training in children with autism spectrum disorder (autism) and its effect on gastrointestinal symptoms.

Methods: A total of 96 children with autism were randomized into an observation group and a control group, 48 cases in each group, with 3 cases dropped out. Children in the control group received sensory integration training.
