Background: Achalasia is a primary esophageal motility disorder, which shows impaired relaxation of the lower esophageal sphincter (LES) and the absence of peristalsis, leading to dysphagia, weight loss, and chest pain. In recent years, peroral endoscopic myotomy (POEM) has become a popular method for treating achalasia. However, the effectiveness and safety of full-thickness myotomy (FTM) versus circular muscle myotomy (CMM) in POEM require further investigation.

Serositis should be considered in the differential diagnosis of a patient presenting with chest pain, fever or fatigue following recent permanent pacemaker implantation, particularly if there are elevated inflammatory markers.

This study sought to evaluate the prognostic value of electrocardiogram feature-based machine learning models to risk-stratify all-cause mortality in those with chest pain.
Methods: This was a prospective observational cohort study of consecutive, non-traumatic patients with chest pain.
