Abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA) are a life-threatening cardiovascular disease for which there is a lack of effective therapy preventing aortic rupture. During AAA formation, pathological vascular remodeling is driven by vascular smooth muscle cell (VSMC) dysfunction and apoptosis, for which the mechanisms regulating loss of VSMCs within the aortic wall remain poorly defined. Using single-cell RNA-Seq of human AAA tissues, we identified increased activation of the endoplasmic reticulum stress response pathway, PERK/eIF2α/ATF4, in aortic VSMCs resulting in upregulation of an apoptotic cellular response.

State Key Laboratory of Reproductive Regulation and Breeding of Grassland Livestock (R2BGL), Inner Mongolia University, Hohhot, Inner Mongolia 010070, China.

Somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT) has been successfully employed across various mammalian species, yet cloned animals consistently exhibit low pregnancy rates, primarily due to placental abnormalities such as hyperplasia and hypertrophy. This study investigated the involvement of the Hippo signaling pathway in aberrant placental development in SCNT-induced bovine pregnancies. SCNT-derived cattle exhibited placental hypertrophy, including enlarged abdominal circumference and altered placental cotyledon morphology.

Background: A stable and reproducible experimental bacterial pneumonia model postintracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is necessary to help investigating the pathogenesis and novel treatments of Stroke-associated pneumonia (SAP).

Aim: To establish a Gram-negative bacterial pneumonia-complicating ICH rat model and an acute lung injury (ALI)-complicating ICH rat model.

Methods: We established two standardized models of post-ICH pneumonia by nasal inoculation with () or intratracheal inoculation with lipopolysaccharide (LPS).

Objectives: An efficient approach to monitor the risks associated with chronic diseases is to use a dietary diversity score (DDS). To our knowledge, there has been no study conducted on the correlation between DDS and cardiovascular risk factors in individuals with diabetes. Hence, the objective of this study is to ascertain the correlation between these traits.

Pediatric Heart Center, Children's Hospital of Fudan University, National Children's Medical Center, Shanghai, 201102 China.

To analyze the clinical characteristics, diagnosis and treatment of pediatric myocardial infarction (MI) patients with coronary artery lesions (CAL) after Kawasaki disease (KD). Clinical data including baseline characteristics, KD and CAL information, clinical symptoms at MI onset, electrocardiogram (ECG) and imaging findings, MI treatment, and clinical outcomes of 41 MI patients with CAL after KD admitted to the Children's Hospital of Fudan University from January 2017 to August 2024 were analyzed retrospectively. (1) Demographic characteristics: a total of 41 patients were included (36 males and 5 females).
