Background: Diffuse-type tenosynovial giant cell tumor (D-TGCT) is a mono-articular, soft-tissue tumor. Although it can behave locally aggressively, D-TGCT is a non-malignant disease. This is the first study describing the natural course of D-TGCT and evaluating active surveillance as possible treatment strategy.

Pigmented villonodular synovitis (PVNS) is a rare benign condition of tenosynovial proliferation that mostly affects the knee joint. In this case report, we present a 39-year-old female with a ten-year history of gradual progression in the size of painful soft tissue swelling in her left knee. Our case report emphasizes the MRI's ability to provide detailed information on tendon sheath and synovium involvement, as well as extensive extra-articular involvement and hemosiderin deposition.

The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is frequently imaged in head and neck computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) studies. Depending on the indication for the study, an abnormality of the TMJ may be an incidental finding. These findings encompass both intra- and extra-articular disorders.

Unlabelled: Diffuse tenosynovial giant cell tumor (TGCT), also known as pigmented villonodular synovitis, is a benign, neoplastic disease of the synovium that can lead to joint destruction, osteoarthritis, and long-term morbidity. Often, there is extra-articular involvement in the intercondylar notch and posterior soft tissues. A complete anterior and posterior synovectomy of the knee is indicated for treating diffuse TGCT when the anterior and posterior compartments of the knee joint are involved.

The current treatment of choice for diffuse-type pigmented villonodular synovitis (PVNS) is surgical excision. Complete synovectomy is necessary because of the local aggressiveness of the disease, with a significant recurrence rate and a minor chance of malignant transformation. The recurrence rate is even greater in those cases with extra-articular extension.
