Background: Medications for comorbid conditions may affect cognition in Alzheimer's disease (AD).
Objective: To explore the association between common medications and cognition, measured with the Mini-Mental State Examination.
Methods: Cohort study including persons with AD from the Swedish Registry for Cognitive/Dementia Disorders (SveDem).
Background: Patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) have serum, bone, and vascular abnormalities presenting as chronic kidney disease-mineral bone disorder (CKD-MBD) syndrome. This study sought to identify the parameters with the greatest relative impact on progression of CKD-MBD abnormalities.
Materials And Methods: This prospective study measured 237 parameters including serum markers, clinical variables, dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) measurements, vascular calcifications, and histomorphometric results from bone samples obtained at baseline and after 2 - 3 years.

Clinical trial results indicate that statin therapy aimed at normalising the lipid profile can prevent and reduce the risk of cardiovascular events. Both LDL and HDL consist of several subfractions, with only the smallest and densest subfractions being the most atherogenic. We examine the effect of Atorvastatin treatment not only on basic lipid profile parameters but also atherogenic lipoprotein subfractions and 25(OH)D levels in patients after the first acute myocardial infarction.

Objective: Early identification of modifiable risk factors is crucial for the prevention of constipation. This study systematically investigated the relationship between genetically predicted modifiable risk factors and constipation.
Methods: The inverse variance weighting (IVW) method was employed as the primary analytical approach.
