The unintentional radiation exposure can have significant implications. We present a case of a 30-year-old pregnant female who was exposed to a potentially radioactive rock for over a one week period during her 13 week of pregnancy. After an arduous process of obtaining activity measurements, the most conservative estimate of dose, the female was exposed to, was found to fall within the permissible limits. We briefly describe the literature on fetal radiation toxicity levels and discuss logistical issues faced in managing such cases.

The quality of CT images obtained from hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients is complex, affecting diagnostic accuracy, precision, and radiation dose assessment due to increased exposure risks. The study evaluated image quality qualitatively and quantitatively by comparing quality levels with an effective radiation dose to ensure acceptable quality accuracy. This study retrospectively reviewed 100 known HCC patients (Li-RADS-5) who underwent multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) multiphasic scans for follow-up of their health condition between January and October 2023.

Unlabelled: Despite the remarkably high antioxidant activity of tocopherols, their applications in the food industry are limited because of their instability under various conditions. Complexes of α-tocopherol (α-TQ) or α-tocopheryl acetate (α-TQA) with β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) or starch were prepared and characterized by UV-vis, IR and thermal analysis. Oxidative stability of α-TQ and α-TQA against HO was 74.

Background: Gravid females with pelvic fractures are rarely encountered by the orthopaedic trauma surgeon. The initial injury can be detrimental to the pregnant patient, but an unnecessary "second hit" from surgery could also contribute to the outcome of the fetus. Understanding the surgical risks for this unique patient population requires knowledge about the negative effects of anesthesia, surgical exposures, and radiation.

Humans encounter diverse environmental factors which can have impact on their health. One such environmental factor is ultraviolet (UV) radiation, which is part of the physical component of the exposome. UV radiation is the leading cause of skin cancer and is a significant global health concern.
