Ecological momentary assessment (EMA) is used to gather self-report on behaviors using mobile devices. Microinteraction EMA (μEMA), is a type of EMA where each survey is that can be answered with a glanceable microinteraction on a smartwatch. Prior work shows that even when μEMA interrupts far more frequently than smartphone-EMA, μEMA yields higher response rates with lower burden.

Emotional experiences involve dynamic multisensory perception, yet most EEG research uses unimodal stimuli such as naturalistic scene photographs. Recent research suggests that realistic emotional videos reliably reduce the amplitude of a steady-state visual evoked potential (ssVEP) elicited by a flickering border. Here, we examine the extent to which this video-ssVEP measure compares with the well-established Late Positive Potential (LPP) that is reliably larger for emotional relative to neutral scenes.

Introduction: Children are among the most vulnerable populations affected by armed conflicts, yet there is limited data on the preparedness of military medical personnel to care for pediatric combat trauma casualties in austere or large-scale combat operations. This study aimed to assess the confidence, training needs, and resource requirements of military medical providers who have managed pediatric patients during deployment.
Materials And Methods: This IRB-exempt, cross-sectional mixed-methods study used a survey created via a modified Delphi method with input from subject matter experts.

Background: There is a lack of diversity within neurosurgery; in 2019, only 12%, 4%, and 5% of neurosurgeons identify as female, black, and Latinx respectively. Project Synapse, a youth outreach initiative, aims to diversify the neurosurgical workforce by exposing youth from underrepresented minority (URM) backgrounds to neurosurgery. The purpose of this manuscript is to describe the outcomes of the first 2 years of Project Synapse.
