We consider a class of Volterra cubic stochastic operators. We describe the set of fixed points, the invariant sets and construct several Lyapunov functions to use them in the study of the asymptotical behavior of the given Volterra cubic stochastic operators. A complete description of the set of limit points is given, and we show that such operators have the ergodic property.

This study considers dynamics generated by a three-species Lotka-Volterra competitive model with two discrete delays. The associated characteristic equation is a cubic exponential polynomial. Assuming the stability of the three-species positive stationary point in the no-delay model, we construct a stability switching curve on which the characteristic equation has a purely imaginary root.

Today we can use physics to describe in great detail many of the phenomena intervening in the process of life. But no analogous unified description exists for the phenomenon of life itself. In spite of their complexity, all living creatures are out of equilibrium chemical systems sharing four fundamental properties: they (1) handle information, (2) metabolize, (3) self-reproduce and (4) evolve.

The distortion-product otoacoustic emission (DPOAE) is a backward propagating wave generated inside the cochlea during the wave amplification process. The DPOAE signal can be detected rapidly under relatively noisy conditions. In recent years, the earphone industry demonstrated interest in adopting DPOAE as an add-on feature to make their product "intelligent" of inner-ear status.

While abnormal cardiovascular patterns commonly occur during ictal events, putative patterns of autonomic cardiac effects during pre-ictal (PRE) periods (i.e.
