The aim of the study was to evaluate the effects of polymeric computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing CAD/CAM materials on antagonistic primary tooth wear. Five CAD/CAM polymeric materials were examined: Vipi Block Monocolor (VBM), Yamahachi polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) (YAP), Mazic Duro (MZD), Vita Enamic (ENA), and Pekkton (PEK). All of the specimens were tested in a thermomechanical loading machine with the primary canine as the antagonist (50 N, 1.2 × 10⁵ cycles, 1.7 Hz, 5/55 °C). The wear losses of the antagonist tooth and the restorative materials were calculated using reverse modelling software and an electronic scale. VBM and ENA showed significantly higher antagonist tooth wear than PEK ( < 0.05), but there was no significant difference observed among VBM, YAP, MZD, and ENA ( > 0.05). PEK showed the largest value in both material volumetric and weight losses. In terms of material volumetric losses, there was no significant difference between all of the groups ( > 0.05). In terms of material weight losses, PEK was significantly larger than ENA ( < 0.05), but there was no significant difference between VBM, YAP, MZD, and ENA ( > 0.05). Volumetric and weight losses of materials showed similar wear behaviour. However, the wear patterns of antagonists and materials were different, especially in PEK.

Introduction: To evaluate the anterior chamber (AC) inflammation in the early postoperative period after cataract surgery and before Descemet membrane endothelial keratoplasty (DMEK) by quantifying oxidative stress and inflammatory mediators in aqueous humor of patients with Fuchs' endothelial corneal dystrophy (FECD).

Methods: In this prospective single-center study, 15 patients with FECD underwent cataract surgery and DMEK in a two-stage procedure. Aqueous humor was collected from the AC at the beginning of cataract surgery and 3 months later at the beginning of DMEK.

Evaluating the risk factors for the conversion from robotic-assisted partial nephrectomy (RAPN) to radical nephrectomy (RN). Through a comprehensive database search encompassing PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, and the Cochrane Library, we identified pertinent English-language research published by June 2024. We utilized the NOS scale for quality assessment.

Article Synopsis
  • This study aimed to create a new classification and guidance system for renal hilar tumors while evaluating the safety and effectiveness of robot-assisted partial nephrectomy (RAPN) in treating these tumors.
  • The researchers reviewed data from 179 patients, categorizing tumors into three types based on a new classification system, with Type III tumors being the most complex and associated with higher blood loss and longer operation times.
  • The findings suggest that the new classification system can help predict surgical complexity and improve tailored treatment approaches in clinical practice.

Objectives: The aim of the study was to determine the clinical features & autoantibody profile of patients having late onset Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) and to compare with young onset SLE due to its scarce data from India.

Methods: All patients who fulfilled the 1997 ACR criteria for SLE were included. Late onset patients were >50 years of age and young onset were <50 years >18 years at the time of first SLE-related symptom.

Purpose: This study aimed to estimate the difference between peripheral and central small renal lesions in terms of their oncologic potential.

Methods: Cross-sectional retrospective analysis of patients with small renal masses (T1a) who underwent surgical treatment between January 2008 and July 2019 at the affiliated hospital. Only patients with ccRCC pathology were included.
