A family's socioeconomic status (SES) can be linked to a child's physical and cognitive health, with children from low-SES families often experiencing poor developmental outcomes. Early positive childhood experiences that include structured and unstructured physical activities (SUPAs) offer a potential avenue to promote positive health and cognitive development during early childhood. However, prior to school entry, it is not well-understood whether SES is related to participation in SUPAs or how SUPAs relate to early health and cognitive indicators such as aerobic fitnessand executive function (EF).

Humanoid robots are becoming a global research focus. Due to the limitations of bipedal walking technology, mobile humanoid robots equipped with a wheeled chassis and dual arms have emerged as the most suitable configuration for performing complex tasks in factory or home environments. To address the high redundancy issue arising from the wheeled chassis and dual-arm design of mobile humanoid robots, this study proposes a whole-body coordinated motion control algorithm based on arm potential energy optimization.

Objective: To define the epidemiology and clinical presentation of seropositive neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) in a large US health system.
Methods: We completed a retrospective observational study of adult patients in the University of Colorado Health System from 1 January 2011 to 31 December 2020, using Health Data Compass (HDC), a data warehouse that combines electronic health information with claims and public health data in Colorado. We screened HDC for patients with either (1) an abnormal aquaporin-4 IgG test or (2) any G36 ICD-10 code.

Context: Advancements in portable load-cell technology have enabled high-quality assessment of shoulder internal (IR) and external rotation (ER) peak force (Fmax) and rate of force development (RFD). This study's purpose was to explore the reliability and differences between IR and ER Fmax and RFD in different testing positions using a novel load-cell device.
Design: A within-subjects repeated-measures design was employed to compare the intersession values and reliability of Fmax and RFD for both shoulder IR and ER across 3 positions: seated-0°, supine-0° and supine-90°.

Background: In reverse total shoulder arthroplasty, a humeral osteotomy is typically performed at the anatomic neck. The quality and quantity of cancellous and cortical bone impacts sizing of implants. Little-to-no information exists characterizing the transition of this bone quality at this location.
