We report a novel set of easily tailorable C symmetric molecules with a π-extended core and adorned with different thioalkyl groups, exhibiting solvatofluorochromic and amphoteric redox behaviour. The nearly planar core exhibits intermolecular face-to-face π-stacking, SS and intramolecular SO interactions. Current-sensing atomic force microscopy studies revealed a high conductivity of ∼0.15 mS cm in the undoped J-aggregate nanofibres of the thiopropyl appended gelator.

This study explores the characterization and application of poly(3-hydroxybutyrate--3-hydroxyvalerate) (PHBV) synthesized from organic residues, specifically milk and molasses. Six PHBV samples with varying 3-hydroxyvalerate (3HV) content (7%, 15%, and 32%) were analyzed to assess how 3HV composition influences their properties. Comprehensive characterization techniques, including NMR, FTIR, XRD, DSC, TGA, and tensile-stress test, were used to evaluate the molecular structure, thermal properties, crystalline structure, and mechanical behavior.

In this paper, we explore a straightforward two-step method to produce high-purity, vertically aligned multi-walled carbon nanofibres (MWCNFs) via chemical vapor deposition (CVD). Two distinct solutions are utilized for this CVD method: a catalytic solution consisting of ferrocene and acetonitrile (ACN) and a carbon source solution with camphor and ACN. The vapors of the catalytic solution inserted in the reaction chamber through external boiling result in a floating catalyst CVD approach that produces vertically aligned CNFs in a consistent manner.

Developing next generation batteries necessitates a paradigm shift in the way to engineering solutions for materials challenges. In comparison to traditional organic liquid batteries, all-solid-state batteries exhibit some significant advantages such as high safety and energy density, yet solid electrolytes face challenges in responding dimensional changes of electrodes driven by mass transport. Herein, the critical mechanical parameters affecting battery cycling duration are evaluated based on Spearman rank correlation coefficient, decoupling them into strength, ductility, stiffness, toughness, elasticity, etc.

Extensive research efforts are being directed towards identifying alternatives to autografts for the treatment of peripheral nerve injuries (PNIs) with engineered nerve conduits (NGCs) identified as having potential for PNI patients. These NGCs, however, may not fulfill the necessary criteria for a successful transplant, such as sufficient mechanical structural support and functionalization. To address the aforementioned limitations of NGCs, the present investigation explored the development of double cross-linked hydrogels (o-CSMA-E) that integrate the biocompatibility of porcine tendon extracellular matrix (ECM) with the antimicrobial and conductive properties of methacrylated quaternary chitosan.
